Is there any way >(hack?) that lets me compete in ace mode and still use autoshift? >Peter Pete, 1) The 3rd party car/driver editor software (f1ed12.zip on wuarchive.wustl.edu) removes restrictions on driver aids at all levels, as well as allowing you to edit car colours, power attributes, and driver capabilities. Its a great piece of software, and is provided free by the author (who is Finnish, I believe). 2) You will almost certainly find that learning to shift yourself gives you a needed edge at the higher levels. You can configure the gear shift selectors to be joystick buttons, or use the mouse buttons. I currently use a joystick for steering, rudder pedals for gas/brakes, and the mouse buttons (under my left hand) for upshift/downshift. The ultimate solution is probably to buy the CH Flightyoke, and use the under-the-thumb fire buttons to change gears. Steve Smith
