Sam'n'Max: Vortex red door etc help needed

I hope someone can help me with this before I go mad!

Ive reached the Mystery Vortex in Sam'n'Max and I cant find the mole man
I think I need to talk to. According to the "walkthrough" I simply
switch the magnets on so that it gives off a red light (behind the
mirror) and then enter the red door. However all this gets me is one of
a few random results when I actually enter the door (the same as if I
entered the blue door). Where is the mole man? How can I find him? I
assume I somehow need to be told to look behind the door by someone else
but Im pretty sure Ive talked to everyone and the only person who
mentions the "uncle" mole-man is the first one you meet in the tunnel of
love.

If anyone can help please reply!

Shuv-Oohl the moleman is behind the purple door.  By now you'll have noticed
that the three magnets (red/blue/yellow) behind the mirror allow you to open
doors in the appropriate color combinations when switched on.  So, turn on the
red and blue, and switch off the yellow.

Please mail me when you find a way into the sasquatch dinner-dance later on.
That's where my roommate and I are stuck.  Have fun!
