Hi Mary! Part II comes out this month - I'm thinking the end of April. When it does come out you can certainly download both parts at the same time. I just finished Part I and it was a treat! The artwork alone is worth the price. The puzzles are easy enough for the likes of me but the game comes with a step-by-step help system that I did use however sparingly. The story is fun, the voice acting is wonderful and the colors kept me happy all through the game. Haven't had such easy fun in decades. Just sayin' Opsimath On Sat, 5 Apr 2014 07:57:57 -0600, "rms" <rsquiresMOO@MOOflashMOO.net> wrote: >The other games are on sale also: >http://store.steampowered.com/app/262940/ > >rms

I used the downloader in Gog but got a bit confused with it and found it easier for me at least, just to download the parts of the game I needed. Do you think Gog and Steam are much the same as to prices and how busy their downloading is? Does Steam have DRM for games same as Gog so you can download games and make copies of the game for your own use? thanks. Mary --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! That sale price should be for both parts. As for Steam, I know that you can be redirected from Steam to GoG for purchasing. For a fact, GoG sells downloads; I think Steam sells streaming game play. Since I like "owning" the game, I usually get it from GoG - but I do have a few on Steam. Just a roll of the dice, I guess. Surely somebody here will clear this up. For a fact, GoG sells downloads; I think Steam sells > streaming game play. Yes, Gog sells downloads and I thought that Steam did the same, but I don't think it is the same. I downloaded todays special on Steam for $12.50 for Broken sword 5. I thought the $12.50 was only for part One on Steam and I would go back to get part 2. I've never downloaded anything from Steam before but have downloaded games from Gog.I like Gog's website better than Steam. Its easier to navigate but maybe because I am not used to Steam. I didn't see anything on Steam about redirecting Steam to Gog for purchasing or I would have gone to Gog as I am more used to it there, but I may have missed that information on Steam. > Since I like "owning" the game, I usually get it from GoG - but I do > have a few on Steam. I much prefer "owning" the game like on Gog.com where all or most of the games are DRM and you can burn the game to a CD so you can keep it to replay and you don't have to connect to Gog website to play the game, but I think you do have to connect to Steam website to play BS5 or any game. But I have downloaded the game now from Steam. It took me a long time as I only have Lite high speed. Oh well, its downloaded now :>) Mary > Opsimath > > On Sat, 5 Apr 2014 16:46:37 -0500, "Mary" <notvalid@notin.com> wrote: > >>"rms" <rsquiresMOO@MOOflashMOO.net> wrote in message >>news:lhp256$6cq$1@dont-email.me... >>> The other games are on sale also: >>> http://store.steampowered.com/app/262940/ >> >>Is that $12.50 price on Steam today for episode 1 and 2, or just episode >>1? >>Does Steam have DRM for games same as Gog so you can download games and >>make copies of the game for your own use? thanks. >> >>Mary >> >> >>--- >>This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! One other advantage to getting a game from GoG is that you can download it for both the PC and the MAC. No matter which you purchase, both become available if the game is made for each OS. So I am able to play on my PC and my grandchild can play on the MAC. Unfortunately, we are drawn to VERY differents games :( Opsimath On Sat, 5 Apr 2014 22:52:49 -0500, "Mary" <notvalid@notin.com> wrote: >"Opsimath" <opsimath@peoplepc.com> wrote in message >news:3501k9hn2rhcpajbjnr98bb8vsag1ei751@4ax.com... >> That sale price should be for both parts. >> As for Steam, I know that you can be redirected from Steam to GoG for >> purchasing. I thought DRM free meant that games on Gog can be copied to a blank CD and have no copy protect software like some games have when you buy them commercially at a store or online before downloadable game sites came into being. Haven't seen you here for a long time, not since this group used to be so busy and adventure games coming out often. I used to be able to buy new games at computer stores near me, but as adventure games became less popular, sometimes a friend in the U.S. would send me a new game. But now its changed again and have to download new games. Its more convenient in some ways, but not so good in others for me at least. I have a cap on downloading and its slow as I only have Lite high speed. I downloaded Broken sword 5 from Steam and it took about 3 hours. I had to adjust the colours as they were too bright but got adjusted and better now.The game seems quite good so far, the acting much like the first 2 games in the series except BS5 has different graphics. But same George and Nico. I want to check out the new Tex Murphy game. Mary --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Antivirus protection is active. http://www.avast.com

Internet speeds are probably one of the area where we surpass what you have in the US. I'm on VM cable, on their lowest package which is 30mb (which goes up to 50mb in the next few weeks) and theyve recently dropped all of their traffic management (throttling ) for downloads. So downloading BS5 only took a few mins, if that:-) > I had to adjust the colours as they were too bright but got adjusted and > better now.The game seems quite good so far, the acting much like the first 2 > games in the series except BS5 has different graphics. But same George and > Nico. Right. But you initially said "all or most of the games are DRM" above, which is contradictory, and it was the second time that I'd noticed it. I was just pointing out that you left out the critical "-free" part. I knew that you had the concept down just fine, but I wanted to clarify the terminology. :)

Is that all? That's amazing. but as I said my download took a long time because I only have "Lite" high speed. regular high speed is too expensive at my provider.. Is VM cable regular high speed, or ultra high speed? there are different speeds and different amounts to pay on my provider and most Internet providers would be much the same I think. I am not in the US. I'm in Canada - a much better country :>) You might remember in the old days here I used to complain about some adventure games on Amazon.com I think it was being available in the U.S. for sale which I couldn't find in Canada but Amazon.com would not ship to Canada. You had the same problem in the UK at the time. Now we can download them as long as you watch your "caps" :) I am getting into the game in BS5. I like it ok. it reminds me of the earlier BS games. My internet provider has faster speeds than my Lite of course, but it is too expensive. Lite is usually ok for me, except for downloading but I don't usually download games, but now that a couple of new adventure games are coming out, it will take me a lot longer than it will take you. and part 2 of BS5 will be coming out in another week and that will probably take me 3 hours like part 1 did. >> You might remember in the old days here I used to complain about some >> adventure games on Amazon.com I think it was being available in the U.S. >> for sale which I couldn't find in Canada but Amazon.com would not ship to >> Canada. It was dirt > cheap but turned out I had to pay the postage at the door (or something > like that) so it ended up not being quite the bargain I thought:-) I was wondering why you would have to pay postage at the door. Or was it Customs duty or tax? The only reason I can think of that you would have to pay would be if you owed money to the UK Customs if the value was over your Customs exemption. But your exemption I am pretty sure is far more than we have in Canada whic is only a measly $20.00 Do you know what the charges you had to pay were for? I've had a lot of experience through the years sending and getting packages from the US and the UK from individuals and from Amazon.com/Amazon.uk/amazon.ca and Ebay.com, so I have a good idea how much the postage is from and to the U.S and UK who I've mostly dealt with. But I usually only buy items less than $20.00. I only had to pay Customs duty and 13% tax and duty once from an item from the U.K. From the US it would be 13%, no duty. That was paid to the post office as they collect the customs tax for Customs, and a Post office "handling fee". >>I am getting into the game in BS5. Don't even buy that many games > unless > they are bargain bin. There hasn't been any adventure games to buy for several years anyway, unless you play other games -PG, combat, etc. BTW, Ebay has a fairly new Global shipping program - to most countries in the world, where you can buy a lot of products which can be shipped from the U.S. the shipping is high but I bought a box set of DVD's recently on the GSP and the total cost even with high shipping cost is still a lot less than I would pay for the same box set at Amazon.com or Amazon.ca or anywhere else where I am.
