Got another quick question for y'all:

How the freak do I snap everybody out of the trance, and where do I find
an 'eye of newt' (not taking anything for granted).
Oh, while I'm at it,

How do you cross the rope that's hanging over a gorge,
and,
How do I get the shiny thing out of the water?

I know I said 'one quick question' and it turned out to be four, but any
answers would be appreciated! I'm enjoying this game quite a bit, and I'd like
to enjoy it more!
