Telltale Games has a habit of releasing the first episode of their adventure game series for free, sort of as a teaser / demo in hopes of getting you to buy the rest. It's even more obvious on the Apple store, since there you buy episodes 2-5 as in-app purchases, but the first hit is free...

Gone are the days they produced real adventure games. If you want to have an adventure game with strong story and real gameplay then play Life is Strange. This is basically what Telltale wants to achieve done right.

(Geez, 6 months it's been sitting there?!) I'm a bit torn on this, and if I want to purchase the whole thing. It does seem more like a minor interactive movie more than a game. Even my wife commented sitting across the room, asking if I was watching a long movie. I found it somewhat enjoyable. What little combat in the game seemed pretty lackluster, I felt like it could've done better and felt less like I was flailing about not knowing what I was doing if they'd just make it 'press any key' instead of their 'press this key in limited time' thing. I had to shut the game down after doing the detective thing, and it didn't save my progress there, and it felt like an absolute chore to do it again. It says that your choices have an effect on outcomes, but it really doesn't seem like it has any replay value based on that, as just going through that part again felt like a total slog. Apparently I'm a totally normal guy as it gave me the percentages of which things people chose throughout the game, and every singe one I had chosen with the majority, which really surprised me. Has anyone played the full game? Does it get better, worse, about the same? - Justisaur
