I was majorly skeptical as far as PSX vs PC -> performance but this system has gotta be seen(and properly played) -> to believe. -> Later, -> Griff Sigh.. and a Nintendo (the 8 bit machine) can outdo i think a 386 maybe 486.. thats simply because if you think about it.. the nintendo has a lot less.. its a COMPLETELY (100%) dedicated machine.. none of the CPU is tied up anywhere.. if you run one of those system monitiers on sys resources, you'll notice that its not on a constant 100% CPU usage... if it were, then it would blow all the game systems out of the water so far... but as it is.. I believe my p90 only averages 5-10 % usage.. I may be wrong..

Where the PSX CPU can concentrate on game mechanics the P90 is forced to do mundane screen redraws that could easily be handled by very "dumb" specialized graphics coprocessors - like the cheap linear texture warping devices present in the PSX. Those chips only cost a few dollars each to manufacture but they make a huge difference in game performance. The good news it that 3D coprocessors are coming to the PC and Microsoft (that's right OS/2 weenies, Microsoft) has dedicated themselves to supporting them through standard API's. That will shift the balance quickly back to PC's and also make Win95 the obvious choice for any and all PC gamers.
