Ok I did all this with Katana and Heavy Metal. I list three robots that you can get an enhancement from, but I can only get two using katana or Jaguar. Of course you must destroy the person to get to the unranked challengers. I think there is on person in each tournament that gives you an enhancement, but I cannot find one in the War Invitational. I went through without losing and I did destructions on everyone. This is also similar to what happened with Jaguar. North American Open Crystal-Christian(Jaguar) #4-Steel Claw(Thorn)(Enhancement) (You can also fight SC on #3 or #5 depending on wether Crystal is in #4) #2-Jazzy(Jaquar) #1-Iceman(Shadow) Katushai Challenge #6-Angel(Gargoyle) #2-Selenna(Katana)(Enhancement) #1-Devan Shell(Flail) War Invitational #5-Eva Earlong(Shadow) #4-Killian(Electra) #1-Bethany(Shredder) World Championship #17-Iceman(Katana)(This one may move around because it happens after kill a woman) #14-Eva Earlong(Gargoyle)-Jazzy(Shredder) #10-Angel(Electra) #7-Devan Shell(Flail) #2-Bethany(Nova)(Enhancement) #1-Nicoli(Nova) Enhancements Jaguar #1-Ability to do Jaguar in air and a second concussion cannon #2-A third concussion cannon Katana #1-Quadruple Spin #2-Quintuple Spin One Last thing how do you do Nova's scrap and destruction, I can only get them to work every once in a while. Also does Nova have any enhancements? Brian Hoyt

The cache saves your tournament progress too! https://classicreload.com/one-must-fall-2097.html NOVA GUIDE Nova's scrap move is done by doing: D, DB, B, F+P It is tricky at first but the technique is to "roll" the Down to Back motion, 'then let GO' of back before pressing forward and punch together. It's important that you press both buttons solidly at the same time. Nova's destruction? just keep pressing D+P repeatedly after the fourth punch and the enemy will explode. Nova has no enhancements - defeating unranked challengers never grants any new moves or upgrades, unfortunately. I've completed the tournaments as Nova and beaten all unranked challengers and sadly got nothing Lastly, Nova's best combo is jump at the enemy and press D+P at the same time (does a enhanced jumppunch) as you hit them combo 3 standard punches then finish with D+B+P to do the uppercut. At mid range his foot sweep can make distance and fullscreen use grenades (D, to B +P) followed by ground pounds (D, D+P) to zone.

In an era when most fighting games were still using 2D sprites, OMF went with 3D models. Admittedly, those models lacked the detail found in sprites, but they were still quite good looking (remember, this was back in the early '90s, when everything was 320x240 resolution; even with sprites there was only so much detail you could pack into so few pixels). The animation was wonderfully smooth, with good transitions between moves; it was far less janky and artificial than, say, Street Fighter's transitions. - Although obvious in retrospect that the developers chose to use robots instead of people because it was it was hard to make good looking humans with only a few angular polygons, this choice also made for a better game. First of all, who doesn't like giant robots? It was also a great way to differentiate their title from the other Street Fighters, Mortal Kombats and Virtua Fighters out there. Moreso, the other brawler games were getting a bit ridiculous with all their silly characters - electric mutants, stretchy yogis, undead ice-tossers - and the use of giant robots added some much need versimilitude (!) to the genre (yes, using giant robots made things more realistic; let that sink in). - It wasn't just the fights that mattered. Any damage you took in the arena had to be repaired using the prize-money. That same money could also be used to upgrade your battle-robot. This added a much needed meta-game to the genre. It was a thinking man's brawler. - Replay mode. You could record your matches to .REC files and play them back any time, or share them with others so they could see your awesome fighting skills. Twenty years later, with video-capture devices and Yutube common, we forget how radical and exciting this... but it was really cool. Oh, so much more. The awesome move-sets, the combos, the multiplayer (online, even!), the tracker music, the memorable quotes, the arenas... there was so much awesomeness packed into the game. I am generally not a fan of brawlers, but I played the shit outta OMF2097. Just don't talk about the sequel, okay?

Oh man I loved that one, I played it against friends locally. I think I only ever got to play the shareware version - you could play the whole game, but only as one or two robots. I'll have to see if it's available anywhere now. That's probably my 2nd favorite fighting game after Street Fighter 2, which I still go back and play a bit on Mame. I haven't won on a single quarter like I used to back in the arcade days, and there's not the fun of monopolizing the game against all comers in the arcade like back then either.

This is the only fighting game I've ever played or had any interest in
(just the demo also). Spalls covers well just what made it so fascinating.

Spalls covers well just what made it so fascinating. I used to play the shareware version of this too. Was it really 3D models? I thought it was pre-baked 2D sprites of 3D models. -- -Toby Add the word afiduluminag to the subject to circumvent my email filters.
