LOL!! Microsoft doesn't have do ANYTHING to damage the PC as a gaming
platform, as game developers are doing quite an adequate job of that all on
their own by creating games that require hardware upgrades every few months.
Not everyone can afford to fork out a grand or so every six months to
upgrade their hardware (mortgage payments, heat, water and grocery bills
take priority for many of us), so former "never console games for me!"
persons are now rethinking their gaming platform of choice. AFAIC, nothing
can beat a PC for gaming, but unless I win the lottery and can afford to buy
a new PC every few months to keep up with the system requirements for
upcoming PC games, I'll choose to stick to console gaming. It's not a
question of "strong independent" vs. "weak challenged retard", it's a
question of affordability for many.

I won't argue with that, especially when you buy two and put them in an SLI
capable mobo.

You've gotta be freaking kidding me!!! A top-notch vid card costs three
times as much as an XBox console!
