I'll bet a game where you kill KKK members wouldn't do well in southern United States. It's not that people sympathize with Nazis or the klan, they just don't like to be reminded of it. A lot of people in germany are very disturbed by their past. I don't think the typical 75 year old German likes to think about what happened in their country 55 years ago. > 2) But i see a disgusting influence from those games that make the gamer > identify him/herself with those stupid simbolsim. Certainly no popular games have done this. It would be VERY unpopular in any country. > 3) Specially, i don't like at all that the guys of Unreal have chosen such a > svastika-like logo for Tournament. > 3 bis) I just remember Age of Empires, where some kinda priests had a role, > which Hitler (and the Popes) would have loved (dominate by the power of > words). Unbelievable, Bil Gates the Atheist sells it! Lots of people besides Hitler have used propoganda to further their cause. > 4) Considering that the *real* heroes that won the WWII and knew the enemy > are getting very old, and considering the lack of historical > education/interest and evaluation of the youngest generation, the number of > people that find the SS stuff, etc., fancy could increase, right? Probably. Once all the people who were alive during the 1940's are dead, the Holocaust won't be so taboo. And the stage will be set for it to happen all over again.... > > I think we should email those game companies and tell them to put more > creativity in their games and to stop repeating old, disgusting fascist > symbols! > What companies? Like I said, except for a war sims, I can't think of a single game that glorifies Nazis. In Wolf3D, you kill them. In Hidden and Dangerous, you kill them. In the Indiana Jones games, you kill them. In Commandos, you kill them. In Red Alert, you try to kill Hitler. -------> Trent
