This made a big difference to me. Yah, Might & Magic I & II up the content and graphics (which, as you say, are EGA quality) over Bard's Tale I, II & III. Though Dragon Wars does a fairly good job with story. The combat differences didn't matter to me though, I'm fine with it either way. One thing I liked about the Might & Magic series is that sequels didn't have the power scaling issues that Bard's Tale series did. In the Bard's Tale sequels you could import your characters from the previous game, with all their levels and abilities intact. This meant that the games were meant to be played from the beginning by high level characters and there wasn't much sense progression as you leveled even higher. Instead having your spell casters of working their way up lists of spells, and using a variety of them through out the game, you were mostly only using a few of the most powerful spells. Since playing BT2 & BT3 I've felt importing characters from previous games without nerfing them (like in MM2 & MM3 or Wizardry 7 & 8) is a big mistake. Or alternatively without keeping the levels from getting too high like in the Gold Box games. -- l/ // Ross Ridge -- The Great HTMU [oo][oo] rri...@csclub.uwaterloo.ca -()-/()/ http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/~rridge/ db //
