There may be more than one puzzle like the one you mentioned, but there was one quest where I recall seeing a ramp after I'd already gotten where I needed to be, and thought to myself that I could have gotten there easier if I had a bike. It might have even been a power generator mission, I don't remember. There were multiple ways to access some of the objectives.
