This is another reason I've held off on VR, I'm not a fan of any display that's jittery or that stutters, and my disdain is increased the closer it is to my eyes. An example is this increasing trend in films of intentional "amateur" camera work that seems to make everything look like a reality show (i.e. camera man holding the camera with one hand and walking around filming the actors, as if the whole production is being filmed with a smartphone). I think this is something millenials or gen-Z kids respond positively to it, but my eyes hate it. For example of this, watch a bit of Game of Thrones (well-filmed), then watch a bit of The Last Kingdom (low budget handheld technique I mentioned above). The latter gives me headaches to watch. Question, is VR CPU dependent? I thought VR performance would be more of a factor of GPU than CPU. The games I see benefitting the most from Game Mode would be titles that make heavy use of multiple threads, maybe something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wTCivOrayc or open world games with lots of NPCs and other things going on. But then again I guess the performance benefits would also depend on what else the gamer has installed on their system.
