3DO M2 Technical Specifications:
10 Custom Processors
66 MHZ RISC PowerPC 602 microprocessor
528 Megabytes per second memory bus bandwith
100 million pixels per second rendering speed
**1 million polygons per second peak rendering speed
700K texture-mapped, z-buffered polygons per second rendering speed
48 Mbits main memory
64-bit memory bus
640 x 480 and 320 x 240 at 24-bit or 16-bit color depths
...also hardware mip-mapping, anti-aliasing, etc..
These specs make the M2 7-10 times more powerful (polygon-rendering wise) than
the Playstation, and 3-4 times more powerful than the Ultra 64.
Is it possible for a high-end Pentium equipped with a 3d accelerator to even
approach this kind of performance?
