I just got that list from www.microsoft.com. You should read it more
carefully: It's not just a list of what will run but also a list of
problem of some sofware running under Win95. About 3/4 of them have
"no problem noted". The rest have notes like "Require MS-DOS mode" or
some problem related to hardware or have GPF.
Some interesting item from the list:
DOOM 1.666 and DOOM II will not run in a DOS VM on system that are
paging through MS-DOS, requires MS-DOS Mode in this case. (What does
that means?)
PAW, USNF, WC2, U8, UAKM, Privateer, SC etc require MS-DOS mode.
Running multiple Turbo C++ 3.0 (DOS) can cause "System stall".
Some problem with Turbo Debugger of TC++ 3.1 (Win).
GPF with Adobe Illustrator, Flight Unlimited etc.
Some games have minor trouble detecting or using AWE32 under Win95.
Anyway the list is still impressive. Looks like you can even load
QEMM or 386MAX, only to have some "configuration problem". It can
even work with Stacker, provided you don't do something stupid like
resizing. They recommand upgrade of PC Tools and Norton Utilities,
but that is normal with the new long file name.
