What games?
DOS games, Windows games and OS/2 games.
Over the last 3 weeks I was on hollidays I've played Syndicate,
The American Revolt, Powermonger, Shadowgate (Windows based,
nice pictures but one of the most awful user interface I've ever
seen), Powermonger, KingQuest 7 (and Loderunner and some kid demo
stuff which is on the CD and which my kids enjoyed, Windows
based using something which is called "WinG"), Kyrandia Book 3.
Oops, I forgot, all those are DOS and Windows commercial versions
which I bought. Played too the demo version of Apogee's Alien
Carnage, nice action game, only complaint is its intro was running
a bit too fast from OS/2. Replayed too some Magic Scrolls games
(Fish and Guild of Thieves, they use their own implementation
of windowing system).
Sorry I can't tell more, there is such an amount of games
one may play over a period of time. But, looking
on my bookshelf about 200 other DOS and Windows games - a lot
of people buy a few games, a few people buy a lot of games -
I'm in the latter category - it classifies me as a consumer
of DOS and Windows - I don't care much what label the games have
provided they are software well-behaved enough - which is the
case of about 85% of those games which ran problem free
with OS/2. About 10%
cannot run from OS/2, and about 5 % won't run on any platform
at all for whatever reason (disk protection scheme, damaged
diskette, bug).
If you need more info, check comp.os.os2.games,
there are regular updated postings about gaming, and if you
need particular detail about a game, may be I have it.
