Even on selecting GM through Dos with KQ6 I get a sound that >is less sophisticated than the one I get with the Win 3.11 version. Sounds stupid, but still, >reality is reality. This doesn't affect Descent in the slightest. Descent does not take advantage of Windows graphics cards. To take advantage of the accelerated functions, the game has to be programmed for it, or go through the Windows GDI/DirectDraw/GDI. Descent does none of this, as it is a DOS game. The reason it is likely faster is that the DOS4GW extender does not have to switch into "real mode" for disk access- all disk reads/writes under 95 are in 32-bit mode.
