Hardly. DOOM is not what made the MS-DOS platform the dominant player
that it is today. Aggressive marketing tactics on Microsoft's behalf is
to blame. Everyone hates Microsoftn these days, but face it: they earned
their place on top of the hill by out-performing every other software
company in virtually every aspect of the software industry.
Oh, and don't forget that IBM is notorious for being really stupid when it
comes to business decisions for the past several years. Buying Lotus may
be the first thing they've done right in the '90s.
