Wacky bugs in X-Com CE

So I recently decided to play through X-Com 1 again, and I've
been running into some weird issues. Anyone seen this before?

First bug: Snakeman terror ship. I have one person behind the
ship, and I'd like to move them around to the doors. So I click on the
other side of the ship... and the soldier walks THROUGH THE WALL on the
left "wing" of the ship. Ends up facing an angry Snakeman, whom she bags
on a lucky snap shot with her last remaining TUs. Couldn't seem to
duplicate it.

Second, just this afternoon: Landed a Skyranger next to a Muton
battleship on an "Alien Base" mission. (Thick forest map, if it
matters.) On the alien turn after we began storming the central lift, I
heard a human scream. No visuals or shot noises beforehand or anything.
Did a quick head-count of my soldiers... nope, nobody missing. I
shrugged and just kept on going. After the battle, though, I found the
following in my post-battle report:

"Civilians killed by aliens ............. : 1"

WTF? Anyone seen this happen in either CE or the DOS version before?

No, in hundreds of games, I've never had that happen.

(DOS version)

I have not seen the terror ship issues. I went over the maps that came
with my CE copy and there are no walk through walls. this could
posibly be a corrupt file on your system.

I have see this Civilian one... once...

this comes from the way xcom does not initialize _any_ data when a
variable is created... some times the when createing the list of
aleins for each combat. it misses the termanating of the last unit
and. then tactical reads the list it sees' some enterys from a
previous combat....

on a side note (dealing with the non initialized variables) when I
installed xcom recently and took a look at some of the temp files. it
had filled up the unused enterys at the end of the files with what
ever was in memory at the time... this included the content of some
websites and a few word documents I had open earlier... talk about an
interesting security problem. I could just see me send a friend a
copy of a saved game and the soldier.dat file has a copy of my Visa
card number... LOL
