Reminds me, when I first bought the game I was just coming into my
vacation and I had nothing planned. I played Xcom nearly every waking
hour for two weeks. Damn! That was a fine vacation although my neck
hurt and my eyes watered like hell from looking at a glowing screen in a
dark room all day. :-)

SVGA graphics, easy user customization, native Windows interface (GODS
but I loathe DOS!), base game speed adjusted for the processor speed,
trashing that damnable 80-item limit to the 10th pit of hell from which
it oozed, other bug fixes, improved interactivity with the environment
(barns collapse after the lower floors get blaster-bombed), eye candy
like cut scenes of researched technology and plot advancement. Just
about everything about the squad combat of the original works for me
(and in fact I'd consider it sacrilege to mess with it TOO much), but I
wouldn't mind an expansion in the interception department.
Really, I'd consider it as a perfect opportunity to apply general
improvements to the game as a whole in the same manner that
Civilization2 improved on the original Civilization. An EVolution
rather than REVolution.
