When I reinstalled TFTD recently, I remembered there was a patch for the
game, which I got from the MPS site, amongst others. However, even though
the patch is now incorporated, I am experiencing problems with game.
I have been unable to keep alive a Deep One, no matter how I capture
it - Thermal Tazer, Thermal Shock Bomb, or plain concussion from a nearby
grenade or Sonic Pulser. This applies to Lobstermen on colony assault
missions - they keep coming back as corpses. I have sufficient alien
containment - two of, which only has about eight aliens in at present. Not
only does this mean my nauts are running around in aqua plastic, but also
that I will be unable to research the advanced subs to complete this game.
Also, I keep getting intermittent crashes within the game - sometimes it
locks up, or I get text and graphics go odd and revert to another language -
Spanish, I think!?
Anyone got any clues, or is it going to mean game abandoned, which is a real
bugger, after all the work put in so far?
One possibility I had is that maybe I installed the patch while the current
game is in progress [I can't remember off hand if I did this or not], there
by corrupting the game data somehow?
Thanks in advance
