Wing commander 4 will feture 16bit color in the movie sequences that makes it look like a movie in picture quality. The sound is MUCH better than wing 3 and eany other game for that matter.I know wing 3 also had 16 bit sound but the sound and music quality is so much better now. On a sound blaster 16 at least. The game supports all known popular sound cards. One very crutial improvement is the mission load times. No, at least in the demo version a mission loads within 10 seconds! Not the 30 second or more wait in wing 3, plus no pauses in combat. Don't play this game with less than 16mb of ram. It's difficult. origin now lists a Dx4 100 as the minimum reccomended system, andthats for vga. For svga a pentium is highly reccomended. Something like a 90 or 100!

The game supports all known popular sound cards. That's because the sound is totally digitized in WC4, instead of MIDI for music. This means the sound will sound a lot richer than WC3, esp. on cards without ROM sound. > One >very crutial improvement is the mission load times. One of the main reasons for the decrease in load time is the decrease of the swap file size. It's now only 10 megs, instead of 20.
