I'm not claiming it HAS to be related, I'm just saying it could be possible for all we know. Weapons research works in mysterious ways... > >or new torpedo design, or > >some other thing. > > Woohoo, now we can make torps 1/4th the strength of war-era torps! Chris, you are missing the point. I am saying they could have taken the technology of the Flash Pack and used what was learned creating it to make the more powerful torpedoes that exist in WCP. Remember, there were several years between the Black Lance and the Bugs. It wouldn't be a damn direct "using Flash Packs during WCP" like you seem to think I'm saying. I'm just saying that I think "Confed doesn't use any of the Black Lance stuff because of its bad rep" (well, except for GenSelect, of course) would be utterly stupid given the major technology advantage it had AT THE TIME OF WC4; however, I can easily see them taking the research that went into things like the Dragon and Flash Pack and using it to generate such things as the Vampire and other WCP ships and weapons that we see after the WC4 era. With that logic, Confed not using the Black Lance stuff wouldn't be just morality over intelligence, it'd be "Oh, we got everything useful out of that stuff and used it to make new models that exceed it now anyway". So the Vampire/Panther/etc. might be a technological descendent of the Dragon just as the Dragon was a descendent of the Excalibur. You follow me now? > > If memory serves, didn't the tracking disk we deployed for > >the Midway's super Bug Gun in WCP look like a Flashpack? > > So.. that means the Flash-Pak was a precursor to the targeting discs > for the sole reason that they were both disc-shaped? Or maybe they both are variants of a similar weapon; again, I'm just saying we don't have anything that says the two HAVE to be unrelated, so I offer it as an possible example why we don't see any Black Lance stuff by WCP (i.e. here is one thing it MIGHT have evolved to instead). -- Mike Bruner...@delaware.infi.net "Yes, I am a servant of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial".
