It's silent in the group. Are you doing well, folks? Is Legion a great

Very quiet round here but I'm having fun for sure, got my 2nd lvl 110
a couple of days ago, so I'm enjoying seeing another class storyline
and gearing up.

Positives:
-World quests are great, lots of variety, useful rewards in artifact
power and potential for gear upgrades even when I'm at a gear lvl that
normally would make rewards worthless, titanforged is a very nice
mechanic for me.
-Suramar. Hardly need say any more - beautiful scenery, really alive
feeling city, fantastic ongoing storyline that really makes me
interested in the characters, and just as I completed the first story
they patch in another one! Best zone ever for me as someone who loves
story and questlines (I imagine Lewis hates it though ;-))
-Still enjoying exploring the world, when I finally gave up and
installed handynotes for the treasures I found tons I'd missed, even
after thinking I'd been everywhere lol. The amount of detail in the
world seems an alltime high.
-Class questlines are great for seeing more story with a class flavour
and making it worthwhile to level an alt; I'm loving the feel of the
druid hall and story as a contrast with the priest one.
-LFR feels way better than WoD; some mechanics actually can't be
ignored this time, and returning to the tier sets and proper trinkets
improves the value a lot, albeit I do have to hope for titanforges for
them to be particularly useful to me; I think it wouldn't have hurt
being 5-10 ilvls higher, given I have 860 ilvl without ever doing
anything higher than LFR/normal dungeons.
-The dungeons I've tried have been fun and I haven't yet encountered a
bad pug to put me off (usually I only last 1-2 weeks into a new
expansion before giving up on dungeons again!)
-Players seem very very lazy these days so making money is easier than
it's ever been - seriously, people pay 400g+ for 50 ancient mana, or
1k gold for a stack of the easiest fish! Maybe I will get that spider
mount (2 million gold) one day after all ;-)

Negatives:
-Professions questlines are cool, BUT it's frustrating when you have
to drag through a ton of dungeons on an alt you'd normally prefer to
stay solo with; I love my druid but I'm well aware that I am not
particularly good at playing him, and so usually prefer to leave him
out of groups instead of forcing others to carry me! Unfortunately his
alchemy questline means he had to do dungeons to even get any useful
basic recipes...
-Way too much pushing of mythic dungeons. Yeah, they're the cool toy
of this expansion, I get it, but quests for them from class missions,
whole tier of artifiact skin locked behind them, recipes in them, and
worst of all, three mythic-only dungeons, two of which interest me
greatly in both looks and story. Feels like the bad old pre-LFR days
where I'd finally get to see inside a raid two expansions later... and
yes, I *know* everyone says mythic dungeons aren't that hard, it's not
that which is the barrier for me but the getting through the group
finder and the wall of elitist groups that only accept people who
already know everything; I just expect to be rejected or yelled at so
don't even try. Make it queueable and I'd probably give it a try
eventually...

Mixed:
-Archaeology, eh, well ok, quests are interesting, but most are pretty
painful to complete for terrible rewards so far. 25+ digsites for a
piece of vendor trash, for example... ok, a 5k gold piece of vendor
trask but 5k isn't so much nowadays! And who on earth thought it was a
good idea to stick digsites in forced PVP zones??
-Legendary drops are a cool idea, but the randomness makes for a lot
of divisions between the haves and have-nots, I see so much resentment
on forums where those who don't have them get rejected for groups/left
out of raids ("find a better guild" is my thinking there but to the
hardcore types I can see it's pretty upsetting to have no control over
that aspect of their gear). I finally got one a few days back and it
was about the worst possible for me, oh well, luckily I'm not bothered
about it!

Overall it's a winner for me; the negatives definitely don't outweigh
the positives. I don't play as much timewise as I did in earlier
expansions, but that's mainly because after 2 years of playing WoW
hardly at all, I'm out of the habit and have other interests! Still
log on for a few hours every day though, and still very much enjoying
it :-)

My old 10 year old computer broke down a few days ago so I had to buy a new
one. I've been installing everything I need and of course I was curious to
see how WoW performs with the new hardware. I've got a level 12 panda monk,
so I briefly logged in to have a look around (admittedly only SW and only
from the ground).

There were two people from my old guild that were online and the guild
roster shows that at least 7 or 8 players have been online yesterday.
Comparing to the last expansion that is an improvement, I think few people
came back and even fewer lasted more than the usual month.

Anyway, I won't re-sub, but it was cool to be back in the world and moving
around my character came so naturally, even after having been away for a few
years. It's funny how attuned you get to the WASDQE way of moving, it's the
benchmark for any other game I'm playing, I've found few where movement is
so intuitive :-)

I had wondered if the expansion was so bad that nobody had anything to
discuss here, but maybe it's so good people don't have time to post ;-)

Cheers

Hah, I should've waited before posting that complaint - fixed as of
7.2, according to Blizzcon, all 3 will be queueable ( MMO-C says Kara
heroic and the other two queueable, so I'll assume heroic for all 3).
That'll do me, I can ignore missing out on the cosmetic stuff if I at
least get to see inside these places :-)

The WASD keys are the primary movement keys, and then QE are left and right

more that it is so time consuming that I don't have time to do anything
else. The daily world quests, the mythic dungeon runs, preparing to get
geared for kara and raid with more then just my priest!

I'm not bothering with mythics. If my guild hadn't imploded a few years
ago I might do them, but I have no motivation to do so and I'm not going
to mess around with finding a guild.

That said, my iLvl is 845 and the last LFG heroic I was in I supposedly
did over 250K dps for the entire instance.

I see a lot more characters online, and I see a lot of people I haven't
seen since MOP or even Cat.

Mostly, I get some world quests done every day or two and there's often
a quest in the guild hall worth doing (I am ignoring all the quests for
gold or whatever the green blob crafting mat is) My artifact multiplier
is up to 1400% and I think I get another level today, so things are
going pretty well.

Mostly, the game is still fun. The rep grind is super annoying, but if I
ignore it, it will eventually be complete.

Ditto, I'm not social enough to want to deal with finding a pug, or
with the group finder so mythics are totally off my radar. hence my
happiness about the mythic-only dungeons being due to get heroic
versions in 7.2; it seems by comments on various websites that we're
not alone in not doing mythics, good to see Blizz realising that and
letting us see the content this expansion, rather than when we can
solo it in a couple of years!

Likewise, I run the censusplus addon on my server and peaktime
population is at levels only seen during week 1 of WoD (it dropped
pretty soon), so an alltime high, plus I keep seeing familiar names
from the early days around (and on such a high pop server it's REALLY
unusual to pick out any recognisable names from the crowd, you
normally never see the same person twice) Heck, I'm even seeing
Alliance players out in the world, I kinda thought we had no alliance
left, but they've reappeared!

Hehe yep, I did a few weeks of doing every (except the crazy elite
part of town) WQ in Suramar, which sorted that rep grind out fairly
easily, especially with the withered army training, which I wanted to
do anyway for chances of toys and mount (I'm still doing it now even
after exalted). Other factions I mostly left to look after themselves,
and I'm exalted with all but one now.

Ok, I like repgrinds better than you do, but given there's plenty
reasons to do the world quests anyway, they'll all get there over
time, even if you just do the gear and highest artifact power rewards
while ignoring everything else. Nice to have them rewarding enough
that everyone has reason to do them eventually.

I haven't been playing nearly that much, and am revered with everyone
but the Surmar rep is still lagging on the low side of revered (maybe
around 7K?). I haven't been doing the training missions much because I
am no grinding mana. Also, I am capped and 1700 mana and cant figure
out which items I am missing. But it hardly matters, I don't get enough
to do the army training very often.

Oh, wait, Warders. I've not hit revered with them, not enough days of
Warders quests.

Yep. The WQ mechanic is pretty nice, but one frustration is too many of
them are frequently bugged. I had one today to kill The Unnamed King (or
somesuch) and killed him 5 times and never got credit.

I at least do the quests I need for the meta reward. Today was unusual
as I completed all 12 WQ for three zones, so I could stay off for three
days.

Artifact multiplier is up to 1750%. 4.5 more days until the next level.

I just blew all my resources upgrading my guild hall set to all 840,
(except the one piece that is 850) even though I am only wearing two
pieces of it. iLvl is now 846. Woot.

Before 7.1 mana was fairly easy; there was tons of it in the vineyard,
just spend a few minutes running around looting it. Now it doesn't
spawn so much there but it's in the rest of the city more so I try and
pick some up when I'm passing on other quests; now I've collected all
the chests in the scenario I don't need many withered to make
progress, so the 400 mana option is fine (and I'm a healer, the worst
possible spec for it).

For the missing items, there's some scripts on the wowhead pages for
the achievement for all the mana items which if you run them will tell
you which you're missing:

Treasures:
/script for q,i in pairs({["Kel'danath's Manaflask"]=42842,["Volatile
Leyline Crystal"]=43988,["Infinite Stone"]=43989,["Enchanted Burial
Urn"]=43986,["Kyrtos's Research Notes"]=43987})do
print(q,IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(i))end

Quests:
/script for q,i in pairs({["Feeding Shal'Aran"]=41138,["The
Valewalker's Burden"]=42230,["Thalyssra's Abode"]=42488,["How It's
Made: Arcwine"]=42833,["Make Your Mark"]=42792})do
print(q,IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(i))end

(Haven't tried those but hopefully they work)

>Oh, wait, Warders. I've not hit revered with them, not enough days of
>Warders quests.

I got exalted with them the other day, ahead of Valarjar; their quests
always have the biggest pots of artifact power, so I tend to pick them
out as worth doing, especially if they double up on another rep I
still need (you get rep with both Wardens and the "local" faction).
They don't seem to come up very often as emissary, but more often than
Valarjar, at least (and I want Valarjar because my hidden artifact
appearance is tied to exalted with them).

Ow, that sucks :-/ Guess I'm lucky as I've rarely come across problems
like that, one or two that don't recognise I'm in the right area, but
usually it's fine - overall I'm really happy with the mechanic, it's
added a lot of interest to the game and made the daily system less
grindy.

I usually do them as they come up but now I have 2 characters to keep
up with I'll probably start falling behind, doing them twice each day
will turn into a chore so yeah, it'll be a case of catch up on one
character one day and the other another. Think I won't rush to level
too many more alts lol.

I love that order hall set; even though I now have higher ilvl items
in most slots I still keep the 4-piece setbonus for soloing, because
it's saved my life a good few times... mess up and lose the illusion
in the elite bit of Suramar? Still ok, I can hold my health around
40-50% thanks to the setbonus :-) I'll have to get on with getting
bits of it on my druid soon so he can have it too; he feels very
squishy after playing a disc priest.

Thanks. I'll give those a go next time I login.

I do that, but I am only doing WQ that I have a met quest for, I haven't
been doing any extras.

I'm holding off on alts until 7.1.5 or 7.2. I think it's 7.2 that
enables the catch-up mechanism.

I am still surprised at the vast the difference is in my DPS between
ilvl 830 and ilvl 846.

Likewise, so far, but there's some hidden ones (that don't show till
you get them), which I'd like, and I know roughly how to get the main
ones for both priest and druid, just have to get that far! I kinda
like the idea of hidden stuff, although I get jealous of the easier
ones when I'm nowhere near getting mine, but in fairness one of them I
could've had by now if I wasn't just lazy/nervous about it (involves a
5-man I'm yet to visit...)

Sounds a good idea, I look at my druid's WQ rewards with his artifact
knowledge 2 and they just look pathetic compared with my priests AK11
rewards, it hardly feels worth getting 400 AP for something when I get
about 6k on my priest lol. Ok, it's a bit faster to get the knowledge
but it doesn't feel worth doing any more than emissarys and gear
quests on him, while my main grabs anything going that isn't too far
out of my way.

Yeah, I was thinking my dmg didn't seem to have improved much since
840ish, but then I stopped and thought - at that lvl I was bursting
down 1k health mobs in no time but 2k health still took several casts.
now the 2k ones go down in no time so long as I get a couple of
crits/procs, and it's 4k elites that take the longer time... I just
hadn't noticed the improvement as it was gradual :-) I very much
appreciate the buff to WQ base ilvl with 7.1; it used to max out at
835, now I occasionally see 845, which doesn't need to warforge too
far to be useful (if it's a holy relic it'll be an upgrade no matter
what as I have NO luck with relics, still wearing a couple of 835s
lol)

I am currently trying to finish up the questlines in Surumar (yes,
those scripts you posted worked well and I am maxed at 2000 possible
ancient mana now). But gathering the mana is still damn annoying. I have
about 650 and need 1200 to give to wassisname to continue on the
storyline quests to finish the zone achievement (and the Pathfinder
achievement as well).

You will be shocked, nay STUNNED, to hear that I actually like the
Illidan storyline in Legion as well. Granted, I'm still ignoring most of
the lore, but the core story is pretty cool, and going back to Black
Temple as Illidan? That was sweeeet.

You will want to just collect as many resources as you can since you
will be able to buy the AR with resources to get up to the 800% level or
so.

Interestingly, I die more often now because I am all, "Heck, six of
them? No problem. I can take them." Which I can, but then I don't heal
fully and pull another six and... well, there's blood. mine.

I got a 870 of a World Boss, that helped. And my artifact is 871.

Oh that one's annoying, yeah, word of warning, if it's the first time
he's asked you for a heap of mana, he will again in a later step of
the chain. I'm glad I see a lot more of it around the safer side of
town nowadays, all the ones in the city give largeish chunks compared
with those in the wilds, so it's not too bad if you pick some up while
doing WQs nearby; at least you can double up on things in the same
area.

Hehe I am indeed surprised! Although that Black Temple part was
fantastic, even having not raided at the time, I've been there plenty
of times solo, so to see it from the other side is a really cool role
reversal, especially looking at what the NPC raid is up to (the AFK
hunter is a great touch lol).

The whole Illidan chain is cool, I love seeing more of his background,
although I do agree with criticism I read about the Naaru NPC, who
seems to completely ignore anything bad Illidan does and blame us for
his death... hopefully the popular theory that it's supposed to be
suspicious and the naaru has some underlying motives is correct, and
it's not just horrifically bad writing!

>You will want to just collect as many resources as you can since you

The downside to the phone app is I spend resources more than I earn
them on my alts now, as I keep running missions, oops - wish I could
pas along some of the 30k+ my main is sitting on.

Lol :-D I can well imagine that one, luckily my priest can't aoe so
I'm never tempted to pull too many... unless I'm farming leyblood on
the mana worms in the cave by the blue dragons in Azsuna, they're
quite low health so I just tab, dot, tab, dot... and then remember
they're not *that* low health when there's about 10 of them beating me
up...

>I got a 870 of a World Boss, that helped. And my artifact is 871.

Grats, my world boss drops *never* warforge. I had a really lucky WQ
reward warforge up to 870 (it was meant to be about 825), and actually
got a legendary last week (about the worst possible for me -
haste/runspeed buff when I CC... as a spec with only 1 cc, on 30sec cd
- well it's good for running away when I get dazed, I guess :-)),
otherwise my gear is all around 840-860, so it's been just the two
really lucky drops so far. Hopefully more luck will be on my side
soon; my druid got nothing from worldboss this week but my priest
hasn't been yet... ;-)

First was 400. I had that. This is 1200, I am getting 2-10 at a time.
The only way I will get 1200 is if I spend every minute in Suramar for a
week.

I've not notice getting more than at most 5 from mobs and 10 from the
crystals.

is you!"

Well, that's why they gave it to you. The RNG is not random, it's cruel
and malicious.

I haven't seen a legendary in Legion.

Ouch, sounds like you've not found the city ones yet then: if you have
the tracking on they appear on your minimap as blue blobs (if you
don't, use the tracking item you were given a while back, should be in
your bags someplace,
http://www.wowhead.com/item=141652/mana-divining-stone), the ones in
the wilds indeed mainly only give 10 (some give 20 and rare ones give
an item that gives 50 or 100, but as those items are tradeable I
prefer to sell them on the AH for easy gold :-)), but items found in
the main city give way more, ranging from 40-100+, which makes it go
far faster.

Can be hard to find some, they're easy to miss, but once you find a
few you'll know what you're looking for: some appear as bottles, some
are plants in the ground, others are floating books or blue gems,
there's a few pics at
http://www.wowhead.com/guides/suramar#ancient-mana. Btw if one shows
on the minimap as outside but above you, look up and see if you can
see a glowy post on a nearby roof - the Stormheim grappling hook
system works in Suramar too, and a lot are up on the roofs; the posts
are rather less obvious "click on me" than the hooks!

Ouch, not surprised you gave up there :-/ I heard about that as an
early bug, never seemed to affect me after the first day or so, maybe
it's fixed by now for people who were getting it. Or maybe there's
some location-based stuff in it; my phone never leaves my house so
always connects through the same connection anyway.

My annoyance with the app is it only lists the charcters on one game
account, if you have two accounts you have to use the logout button to
view another game account on the same battle.net account (luckily it
doesn't actually completely log me out, but I always expect it to say
"no, you're logged out now, go find your authenticator"), and as my
only two characters levelled are one on each account, it's a pain...

Hehe - I had to laugh really, it's one of the two most-complained
about on the forums, ironically I actually really *want* the other one
commonly regarded as "useless", because the incoming dmg reduction it
gives will be fantastic for soloing, which is what I do the most; I
just got the wrong one :-)

>I haven't seen a legendary in Legion.

You'll see one eventually, I think they buffed the droprate with 7.1,
as there seemed to be a big spike of them in active players around
that time; both me and my bf got ours within about 4 days of the
patch, right when forums were full of people saying they finally saw
one. Hopefully you'll have luck soon too (and get a good one :-))

Professions! I love how we have to get upgrades, new
recipes/patterns/etc. It's vanilla style! Tonight my herber had to
kill Cenarius in EN for the third upgrade for the felwort skill. :)

Maxing out profs is difficult now. My enchanter is stuck somewhere
around 750 or 760 due to lack of upgrades (lvl 3 recipes which only
drops from WQs which seems to not appear anymore with 7.1?). My herber
is stuck at 796 and I have farmed more than 5 stacks of herbs at that
level tonight. Not a single point.

World quests! <3

No more fancy spell abilities. I'm playing 4 chars atm. 3 110s and a
single 106. Arcane mage, Boomkin, resto/ele shaman and shadow priest.
Rotations are still important, but the spellbook has become less crowded
with fancy spells and abilities. I actually like that despite I miss
Alter Time on my mage. :)

No more strict path to level. Pick your zone. I also really like the
scaling alignment dpswise which works almost flawlessly. Oh well.
Bring your ilvl 870+ char into a normal dungeon and you can get clearly
outdpsed by a fresh lvl 102 char and demon hunters still does crazy
damage until they hit 110. The scaling is not 100% perfect. :)

I'm not sure what kind of weed peeps smoke today. Yesterday I posted a
sackful of nearly useless pots and items, a few herbs and ore and other
oddities on AH and I made 15k gold. And I'm not even near the AH game
like I was 2-4 years ago. 30-40 mins of work in suramar and I can make
3-5k gold on AH just from raw mats. so that 2m gold spider mount is not
far away. :) Gold is pretty much devaluated and is not a problem anymore.

Flying skill? I dont need that (unless I herb and mine). the lack of
flying makes places like the city in Suramar much more fun and
challenging. You just cant fly in, kill that npc/miniboss and fly away
again. you have to get past loads of guards and detectors if you want
to do that WQ! Me like! Its almost like a good ol' first person shooter!
I still stumble upon new well-hidden paths that leads to some small
surprises here and there. Small caves everywhere. Details, details,
details... and even MOAR details!

This is the first expansion where I actually find interest in the
storyline. That's an achievement for Blizzard!

You werent home yesterday? You still can do the yesterday's daily
faction quests so you dont feel youre getting behind.

Many aspects of the expansion feels like vanilla with an updated twist imho.

Et cetera.

Damn good expansion! 9/10 stars.

I mostly like it, would prefer not having to do dungeons for early
recipes though, like my alchemist only had about 3 recipes before
being faced with a dungeon quest, that's a bit far for my taste :-P I
also wasn't happy with the recipes in the mythic-only dungeons, but
those dungeons will have heroic versions in 7.2, hopefully containing
my recipes, so I can live with that!

Oh, skilling up is nasty, I do have mining maxed but JC was so
painful, had to craft yellow items worth about 12k of mats (that sell
for about 4k, if they sell at all) to get from 780-790, at which point
it went green and I gave up - Darkmoon Faire got me to 795 and I'll do
800 next month!

And cooking, erm... 780 and *everything* is grey. Including a lot of 3
star recipes, not sure which will be the magic one that actually is
not grey, but I haven't discovered it yet, despite Nomi burning
maximum amounts of food every day (and me regularly switching up what
types of food I give him). Well, it beats getting everything on a
plate right at the start, but I did think that 2 months in I should be
getting somewhere near... :-P

Love them :-D Although the amount of time I spend on them does mean I
have less time for everything else, they're even more addictive than

I've mostly got used to that, I do miss having an interrupt though...
and an aoe with less than 15 sec cd :-P Otherwise I love my priest,
and druid is more too complex for me than too simplified, I've
accepted I'm just not going to be very good at him, but he's fine for
soloing anyway :-)

Hehe, I do like the scaling overall though, being able to do stuff at
max lvl across the whole continent is fantastic, there's so much to do
and see, and it all feels relevant, it's the scaling that makes world
quests work out so well, as it gives so many more areas for them. And
not having to care what lvl your friends are to group together is
great - now, if only they'd let me group with my friends on the other
faction... (they just said at Blizzcon that they won't, grrr :-( )

Prices are insane at present, it seems a lot of people who made tons
farming the garrison are willing to spend silly money now, I'm
certainly not complaining. Think I'm 600k richer than I was at Legion
launch... prices have come down a bit lately but still, pretty much
anything sells for a lot, especially trade goods and consumables.

I so agree! Don't object to flying coming back eventually, but I'm
very glad to be experiencing it this way first; Suramar would feel
like nothing if you could just fly over it all. Now, that's not to say
I won't mind the convenience when it IS added, but right now I'm happy
:-)

>Damn good expansion! 9/10 stars.

About sums up my feelings, it's done a great job so far, long may it
continue! I keep realising there's so much stuff I want to do that I
haven't got round to, as well; like 10 classes' class campaigns rofl,
and seeing the demon hunter starting zone... and I want to lvl my
gnome hunter up, want to do some more dungeons (although I'm having a
TON of fun duoing some on normal with my bf now, far better way of
exploring than zooming through attempting to keep up with a pug and
not really having much idea what's going on :-)), maybe a bit of
pvp... oh and I've been forgetting to do my baby falcosaur dailies,
yeah, tons to do :-)

Oh yeah and another thing I love which mention of Suramar reminded me
of: the voice acting. "An illusion! What are you hiding?" etc is
brilliantly done, the males in particular sound perfect, and you hear
it often enough to know it well hehe. The harpies are fantastic too -
yes, they're very annoying and painful, but that's what a harpy is
*supposed* to sound like. And the quest dialogs are mostly excellent
(except that female tauren in Highmountain...), really bring it to
life more; I find myself missing it when I do older content now.
Wonder if the voicing is why more people are liking the story this
time out; certainly brings it to life far more, I've found myself
interested in a lot of the characters as a result.

DMF! Of course! My herber went from 796 to 797 after another 4-5
stacks of herbs...

I have decided not to complete them every day. I'm not interested in
doing WQs that yields 80 gold so I do those that gives APs and maybe a
slight chance of usable gear before I hand in for the faction bonus.

Thats what my guildies says as well. One of them managed to make +1
million on herbs only in the first few weeks. :) She was also online 24/7..

I've heard there's one engineering one which can only be got in
mythics (might be a quest, else a mythic-only drop) and there's
certainly 2 JC 3-star recipes which drop in Court of Stars and Arcway,
which are of course mythic-only... the profession window does say
"heroic" mode (even though it doesn't exist), so hopefully they'll
drop when heroic modes for those two are added in 7.2!

Ouch. Might be the rare herb Felwort could have a higher chance of
skillup? Think my later mining skillups were mostly from Felslate
seams and Infernal brimstones. Failing that, DMF will sort you out
next month :-)

Yeah, I still end up doing a lot on my more active days though... AP
and gear, professions, pet battles (those which give currency and
those which count toward achievements), well it's less than I was
doing, as now I'm exalted with everyone and have over 30k order
resources I don't do the order resource ones, and don't always do the
others, depends how good the rewards are compared with the effort
required... or whether I can be bothered trekking halfway across the
map to a really annoying location :-)

I really wished I had herbing in the early days, I heard prices were
insane, as of course raiders wanted consumables and loads of people
had dropped it in WoD. I was glad I still had my mining, as ore sold
for silly money too - it took me a while to get the blue gem recipes
so until I got them I was selling tons of ore and raw gems. Once I did
get them I've been buying and cutting gems for 1k gold profit a go for
some time, although it's dropping a bit recently. Food has been very
profitable too, especially fish-based food, seems lots of people hate
fishing, while I quite like it and love the money it makes ;-)

CoS and arcway should go heroic as well from 7.1.5. So there you go. :)

Felwort seeds did the trick tonight. I had 3 seeds in my bags. Planted
and harvested them brang me to 800. Profit.

I know the drill. I stopped doing the resource WQs weeks ago when I
realized I could buy resources from the blood dealer in Dalaran.
Sometimes I do the WQs that gives gear. If I dont get an upgraded
version I simply DE it. But chaos crystals has fallen down in prices so
now I just keep them skilling.

Usenet has become a museum in internet terms. The danish dk.* hierachy
is almost empty now compared to 10-15 years ago. And so are many of the
international newsgroups. :/
Imho usenet is still by far the best forum software ever developed.

7.1.5? Even better, I expected it to be a wait for 7.2 :-) Ok, so now
I have to actually try some heroic mode, not done anything above
normal yet, but given I have 860 ilvl and can duo normals with my bf,
I imagine heroic can't be *that* hard... famous last words...

Grats :-) I've never tried those seeds yet, they seem to sell way
higher than the herb does, and since I'm not entirely sure how many
they give, I prefer to sell them, figuring chances are I'll get less
value of herbs than the seed is worth. Keep meaning to try one but
I've never got a seed for a less valuable herb yet, it's always
felwort or foxflower, where the seeds are worth loads! pretty cool
mechanic though, I like the idea of it.

>I know the drill. I stopped doing the resource WQs weeks ago when I
>realized I could buy resources from the blood dealer in Dalaran.

Ah, as a crafter, blood is worth way more to me than the resources you
can buy with it, I'm getting 700-1k profit per blood if I use them
carefully, while I don't think there's any resource which is worth
much over 500 in the vendor quantites given, most are way lower
(Foxflower is the only one I think even gets near that high; I don't
know leather values but it's not usually higher than herbs if past
expansions are anything to go by), so the blood WQs are very much a
priority for me, wish more would spawn! :-)

>Sometimes I do the WQs that gives gear. If I dont get an upgraded

I usually do those, although I've had a break the last few days,
catching up on other interests - as I'm not an enchanter then I just
enjoy the vendor prices of gear lol, and curse whenever it gets me
excited with an "item upgraded!" popup, only for me to see
Indestructible and no titanforge :-P

Although I have recently realised that DEing my green drops (mailing
them to enchanter alt) is way more effective than relisting them over
and over then giving up and vendoring them, wish I'd noticed Arkhana
values sooner!

Yeah, almost every usenet group I used to read is dead; this one is
the most active remaining, and that's really not saying a lot :-/
usenet may not be fancy or pretty but for simple function in enabling
communication, it's great.

Mailing lists are going the same way, one I've been in for 15+ years
is still alive, but far quieter than it used to be, with most its old
members on Facebook groups instead, real shame. Facebook groups are
just terrible for ongoing conversations IMO, since you never can find
the new comments on old posts: there's no "unread" indicator! But at
least I can actually use Facebook; I can't get into Twitter, Snapchat
and goodness knows what else at all... I guess I'm getting old
already, only in my early 30s :-P

Lots of foras goes facebook'ish. But yes. Its terrible to keep up an
interesting conversation due to the design and mechanics. And it havent
got any better with the so-called responsive shitty design minded for
phones and tablets.

My experience is that heroics are usually easier than normal mode.
Maybe not really early on in an expansions life, but once everyone's
leveled and geared up a bit, you're more likely to find over-geared
people in random heroics while in random normals, you get people still
gearing up.

Certainly I get the feeling that the tanks in regular instances are
squishier than those I come across in heroics.

Of course, if you're going to try and Duo them, I'm not sure how that
would go, but if you've got enough CC to use, I imagine that trash
mobs shouldn't be *that* hard. If bosses have enrage timers, that
might cause problems, otherwise they shouldn't be too troublesome
either. Just time consuming.

Well... as a healer I *like* lesser-geared tanks and dps, as they tend
to be less likely to try and drag us through at top speed using every
possible skip and exploit to shave off a few more seconds. I find
speedruns very stressful, so better geared people isn't necessarily a
good thing for me ;-) Attitude is very hit or miss though, I know you
can and do find the same in normals, I've just not hit any so far,
probably through luck.

Doubt we'd try duoing heroic yet, normals are fine, heroic I'd
probably aim to gear up a bit first. We had a shot at Mythic to look
at Court of stars and Arcway; that was definitely too much, got a few
trash mobs down with great difficulty but accepted we needed way more
gear to get further (we were lower geared at that point though, about
845)

So do I, and a few others. Interestingly enough, Lewis is a poster in two of
those (aint the world small :-)

But mostly it's just old farts participating in them, the only youngsters in
usenet groups seem to be those using google groups without realising where
they are posting to :-)

Cheers

Nearly always, yes.

You will *never* get over-geared players in normals, you will nearly
always get them in heroics. The first heroic I ran the TANK pulled over
200K dps. the rest of us mostly just watched and I think the healer
switched to shadow...

Oh yeah, no question.

It would be a pretty good bet that the gods of a world like this
probably do not play chess and indeed this is the case. In fact no gods
anywhere play chess. They haven't got the imagination. Gods prefer
simple, vicious games, where you Do Not Achieve Transcendence but Go
Straight To Oblivion; a key to the understanding of all religions is
that a god's idea of amusement is Snakes and Ladders with greased rungs.

True. In dk.* we still recieve answers to 10-20 years old topics. It's
amazing.
