Figured it out.  My elemental shaman was set to resto loot.  Setting it 
to elemental gives me the necessary information. :)

Lava burst +3% dmg / Chain lighting +5% dmg.

Hehe you're lucky, half the time I can't convince it to give me the
other spec's info without actually switching spec, a little irritating
when I'm not sure which spec to grab a relic for, hopefully it'll work
a bit better next time I'm trying to choose!

Glad to get plenty of relic rewards anyway, I was expecting it to be
hard to keep both specs up but actually both my artifacts have the
same ilvl at present, so no issues so far :-)

Btw.  I'm completely confused about this artifact system.  When I 
entered Legion I chose Elemental for my shaman.  Now I'm 102 and I went 
back to the class hall, found a quest giver on the minimap, didnt read 
the text carefully and picked the wrong spec/trait (enhancement).  I 
would have chosen resto.

So far I've understood I cant reset that choice until I have played 
enhancement.  Is that correct?

Based on having chosen three artifacts, I don't understand this
complaint.  By the time you get to the point of selecting the artifact
it tells you which artifact goes with which specialization.  And, if
you've forgotten, you can check your specialization page.

Either abandon the quest, if that doesn't work, then do it and
immediately after you've done it you'll be offered the 3rd artifact,
there's no delay. Given every spec gets a different storyline, it's
worth playing all 3 anyway to see what the other specs get even if you
never intend to play them again :-)

Abandon what quest? :)  at lvl 102 I went to my class hall, picked up a 
quest and saw a countdown timer when I had to pick some sort of a spec. 
I'm not even sure what you and Tim are talking about. :D

Geez.  8 months away from the game and I've become a complete noob!

That's the quest I meant, the one you picked! It's for the artifact
weapon for that spec, and the countdown timer puts you into the
correct spec to do the quest.

Lol I don't think so, it's just a bit confusing to figure out what
you're actually asking... it seems the easiest answer is: do the quest
:-)

No.

You pick one spec at level 100. You are stuck with that spec until level
102 when you can acquire the quests to get the other two artifacts (one
at a time). So, from 102 on you can have all three artifacts if you wish
9or 4 if you're a Drool).

You're right.  I've just done both specs at 102/103.  So now I have 3 
weapons unlocked.
I had to respec to resto in the final fight.  I couldnt heal up a dead 
stone, but I still managed to survive it with my resto shaman and 3 npcs 
at 5-10% health and zero mana most of the fight.
