This is getting to be very annoying in areas with lots of pets, particularly the flying ones that fly into the cursor. Also is there any way to tell other pets to avoid the cursor, rather than have the voidlord always take an intense interest in my current point of interest? Or any way to target nearest non-mob item of interest? ...and..ATTACK..petbattle ...and..loot..voidlord ...and..click cog..voidlord How many hundreds of times a day? a lot. Hopefully there are ways, I read the words and in retrospect they make sense but often until you know that particular context the meaning gets attached to something more familiar, and wrong.

Most critters won't start a pet battle if clicked upon. Surely there aren't that many pet-battle-enabled critters in one area? > Also is there any way to tell other pets to avoid the cursor, rather > than have the voidlord always take an intense interest in my current > point of interest? Do you mean your combat pet gets in the way of things you'd like to click on? Combat pets will always stand to your character's left, so you could just face away from the item of interest. Or you could click the "go stand over THERE" button on the pet bar to send them away for a bit. > Or any way to target nearest non-mob item of interest? I don't believe you can target things that aren't mobs. I don't know if this would help, but you can make a keybinding for "interact with the thing my cursor is currently hovering over." > ...and..ATTACK..petbattle > ...and..loot..voidlord > ...and..click cog..voidlord > How many hundreds of times a day? a lot. Hundreds? I really have no idea what you mean. What are you doing, exactly? And what do you mean by "voidlord"? -- John Gordon Imagine what it must be like for a real medical doctor to gor...@panix.com watch 'House', or a real serial killer to watch 'Dexter'.

Macro /targetenemy and click through the mobs. It works like the tab button in your desktop. And it doesnt target battle pets, neutral mobs/chars or critters. Only the the eeeeviiiiiil ones that also wants to kill kill KILL you! :) > Also is there any way to tell other pets to avoid the cursor, rather > than have the voidlord always take an intense interest in my current > point of interest? Nope. It always prioritize the specific mob you attack. But if you let it build up aggro on mob #1 for a few secs by using the voidwalker's own attack button and you attack mob #2 the aggro on mob #1 will be kept until its dead or aggro is lost. You can also let the void tank everything by building up aggro one by one. But I wont recommend this strategy as the void's aoe aggro sucks. If you have problems with aggro etc you should try the tiny nameplates addon as the nameplate's color tells you all about aggro on specific mobs. Red = bad, yellow = youre close to aggro cap, blue = everything is fine and you can take a tan. -- Peter T. <https://elite.frontier.co.uk/>

I meant if there is a clickable object, quest, loot etc, 20% of the time the pet will decide to move onto it when I click. whatchu doin? that looks interesting, scratch my tummy. I suppose it may have something to do with 250-500ms ping, what I see isn't what system thinks is there and by the time I click on a clear object something is in the way, then it shows as moved. I am having really bad ping spikes atm and it is just happening so often. I was hoping for some option or way to just click through the pet, or to have the pet not be so upclose friendly. I know you just have to pivot point of view, it is just you see an object, it is clear..but suddenly not -after- the click.

I use /targetenemy a *LOT* when I cycle and dot through mobs on my mage or lock. I'm lefthanded so I use the right part of the keyboard with all the numbers. Donnu the english word for that section... 1235 is bound for forward/back/strafing and 7 is macroed with /targetenemy. Its very important for me to have the most-used buttons near the movement buttons as /targetenemy is pretty vital for my playstyle. > I suppose it may have something to do with 250-500ms ping, what I see > isn't what system thinks is there and by the time I click on a clear > object something is in the way, then it shows as moved. > I am having really bad ping spikes atm and it is just happening so often. Ah. High latency can show some odd behavior when interacting with objects in the game. The game is tolerant to high latency to a some sort of a threshold. :) 250-300ms is acceptable for pve and barely acceptable for simple heroic dungeons. 500ms is fine for AH bashing. It could be a worn-out adsl modem? That happened to me a year ago with a 7 year old zyxel modem. Latency suddenly went sky-high in maybe 5-60 secs and sometimes also DCed me. I was sure it was a f*cked up carrier line. My isp told me I was wrong. :) -- Peter T. <https://elite.frontier.co.uk/>

My isp told me I was wrong. :) > It is just local congestion and international routing, Thats without ddos attacks or misconfigurations. It comes and goes over a day or week, but is staying longer. From here in oz it can't physically get less than 150ms or so ping, depending on the cable configuration and path taken. Light only travels so fast. 220ms is pretty good to go up the west pacifc rim, across the north pacific, and back through who knows how many repeaters, hubs, switches and exchanges. Everthing on the route is doing a very very good job to get that. Also congestion on one or other multi terabit cable could see some being redirected across asia. Packets arrive out of sequence, have to be reassembled or timeout and resent. http://www.verizonenterprise.com/about/network/latency/ I care about most of the traffic in the world, because my packets have to drive through every peak hour in the world :-)

He didn't say what the voidlord was *doing* that was a problem. Was it attacking when he didn't want it to? Was it getting in the way, visually, of his target? Was it making unpleasant sounds? -- John Gordon Imagine what it must be like for a real medical doctor to gor...@panix.com watch 'House', or a real serial killer to watch 'Dexter'.
