Not sure how I missed it but I came across some information recently that enchants can be put on boa heritage gear yet still leaves them boa. It also seems in doing so the enchant scales with the level the same way the gear does. Am I understanding this correctly? I can put the highest Pandaria enchant on? I would hate to do so and lose the boa status. Thanks in advance. Brian

You can also use shoulder enchants from scribers and leg enchants from tailors and LWers. -- Peter T. <https://elite.frontier.co.uk/>

It should warn anyway, if it doesn't and it binds then ticket and point to the patch notes http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/10788364 5.4 Patch Notes: Siege of Orgrimmar "All permanent item enhancements provided by Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, Tailoring, and various vendors and quests are now able to be applied to items of any level. This means all enchantments can now be applied to heirloom items. High level enhancements applied to items equipped by low level players have their power scaled down to be similar to enhancements intended for that level range. Low level enhancements applied to items equipped by high level players do not grow further in power beyond their intended level range." The scaling makes a difference to what is best or useful throught levels. the scaling can also be broken, unless they fixed it, or it got broken again. Got from somewhere when googling, a spreadsheet of enchants https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?pli=1&key=0AnBPvCvqWJ3udENtVlVmcjA4Q3ZQWmZKWHE3c201UXc&f=true&noheader=true&gid=17 Personally I just can't be bothered much trying to minmax the organisation of 20,000 constantly changing details of wow. Something isn't perfect with my gear, but I looted 5 mobs in the time it took you to tell me I was inefficient :-)

The bonus you get at lvl1 is the same you get at 59. Once you hit BC levels, it jumps up then stays static until you hit LK levels, etc.

My afflock is currently leveling using a "Scholarly Headmaster's Charge" with Jade Spirit on it. He's now at 66. pt

Apart from cost and if you have a bunch of older lvl (80) enchants that are all worthless, as far as selling anyway. May as well use them up since they work the same as MOP for 80 levels anyway. By 80-85 you are looking at replacing BOA with decent drops. check out that spreadsheet for gear and scaling changes seriously https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?pli=1&key=0AnBPvCvqWJ3udENtVlVmcjA4Q3ZQWmZKWHE3c201UXc&f=true&noheader=true&gid=9 I can't say it is accurate but looks like it for the enchants I used. now the obligatory ramble: The first step to recovery from packratitis. For old 'worthless-to-everybody-but-me' items I put* most of them in the guild bank area for junk. A low level tab with gear free to burn up and regularly purged. Best thing ever for those of use who are packrats , we can imagine -someone- will have a use. The choice to vendor isn't our decision, and knowing it would be very sad making. *yeah 'put' like I 'put' the cat in the cat cage , I swear it can grow 4 more legs when it wants :-)

I'm late to the party, but I would say that the best enchants to put on BOA gear are the enchants that work at low levels. The original skill 300 enchants from vanilla, which work on all gear, particularly level 1 gear, are completely overpowered for level 1-20 toons. Stuff like 100 health to chest armor, fiery weapon/lifestealing on weapons, and minor speed on boots. Suddenly, you can now one shot mobs via your auto attack, survive several counter attacks, and run away from bigger threats. In a nutshell, you can smash through the first 20 levels without thinking, in no time flat, even with cloth toons. -- // T.Hsu

Often others put their skillups up for less than the cost of me making them, not to mention managing a mat shopping list. The BOA get a few mix and match over time but the replaceable items get enchants as well. Whatever I have, whatever is low on the AH. Usually every ten levels or so on full 1-80 alts, when back at the bank to get the heroes board. Being so OP there is little real need to replace say a boot with a movement enchant until something -much- better came along. I guess people go for the max level stuff even though you can do a slot for 100g over all levels. I use https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?pli=1&key=0AnBPvCvqWJ3udENtVlVmcjA4Q3ZQWmZKWHE3c201UXc&f=true&noheader=true&gid=9 and undermine journal for reference. e.g Note this is one realm, prices differ. https://theunderminejournal.com/?realm=A-Caelestrasz&search=enchant+boots I had a stack of tuskar vitality https://theunderminejournal.com/item.php?realm=A-Caelestrasz&item=39006 Even though it suggest they are ~50g, it doesn't mean they actually sell, I have managed to fritter away 15 on boots, and sold 5. Maybe if I wanted to resub every weekend for a year I have thrown away 750 gold, but I wouldn't do that so they are worth..much less than the time and effort, probably even saved time<->gold. If I wanted to get into juggling enchants maybe but thats not my niche. Same thing for the chest +all stats etc. I think the great majority of characters are from longtime players, many alts with many professions and they fill expensive slots themselves. For them the AH is mostly for convenience, when they want *THAT* NOW. The few fresh players, or returning after a long period, don't have much gold, they can't pay much even if they know what they could use.

Enchanting vanilla items at lvl 57 is stupid as the stats will rocket up the same second you get your vanilla items replaced by a handful of green outland items. But once you get a blue drop from a dungeon (usually from the reward bag) its stupid not enchanting it as a blue item will last for some levels and time until you hit another expansion step. Going for mastery enchants once you hit 60 is a good idea no matter what. The dps increase is remarkable. -- Peter T. <https://elite.frontier.co.uk/>
