It should warn anyway, if it doesn't and it binds then ticket and point 
to the patch notes

5.4 Patch Notes: Siege of Orgrimmar
"All permanent item enhancements provided by Enchanting, Engineering, 
Leatherworking, Tailoring, and various vendors and quests are now able 
to be applied to items of any level. This means all enchantments can now 
be applied to heirloom items.
High level enhancements applied to items equipped by low level players 
have their power scaled down to be similar to enhancements intended for 
that level range.
Low level enhancements applied to items equipped by high level players 
do not grow further in power beyond their intended level range."

The scaling makes a difference to what is best or useful throught levels.
the scaling can also be broken, unless they fixed it, or it got broken 
again.

Personally I just can't be bothered much trying to minmax the 
organisation of 20,000 constantly changing details of wow.

Something isn't perfect with my gear, but I looted 5 mobs in the time it 
took you to tell me I was inefficient :-)
