i'm no rocket scientist, but i read some crazy article in a science
magazine about how someday, people would use black holes for time travel.
they imagined these black holes as massive bodies swirling more mass into
its center. if a spaceship cuold catch a ride on one of these swirls of
mass, it would accellerate it to light speed and time would stop for the
men in the ship(or at least slow down). then using the momentum the ship
has, it would turn it around and fly out of the vicinity of the black hole
right before it got sucked in. then the ship would return to earth a few
thousand years later. (sound a little bit like planet of the apes?)
can anyone tell me if this is possible, or just a load of bull that i
wasted my time reading.
