It was very variable on my server, I never realised before that the game must be phased out into subzones or something, because you could move from one part of a zone to another and it'd change from massive lag to completely fine! Weird, but was definitely happening in Frostfire Ridge, at one point Bladespire Hold and surrounding area was awful, Wor'gol and around it was just fine, and the difference was visible as soon as you crossed the subzone border.
