Have to cover the costs of someone who has kept putting them up for years without a bite :-) If wow was really concerned with the economy it would be a lot easier with a longer AH time, or a AH request board. Put up a request, anonymous so people can't just go outside, AH holds it in escrow as it does now with bids, when filled the AH takes its cut. That would be too simple. Actually, is there any site for request per server like that? I just vendored a bag full of 80 gems that somehow accumulated again, including yet another stack of kings amber and a couple of stacks of orbs. I collect these because people put them up for less than vendor, I am doing them a favour by saving them losing their deposit and they don't even know it :-) It is really hard to keep the packrat from clicking on a guaranteed, if tiny, profit. A sure bet is the one someone wants is the one I don't have at the moment, and will have a stack next week. All that valuable MkIII loot, vendor fodder in MkV. All your legendaries will soon look like Betamax tapes :-) Did they look for things like the blacksmith training projects or research projects? I don't know if tailors have them.
