Hi all, I got a wierd problem when I try to access the Advanced Setting choice in the Unreal 1 options menu. Upon choosing the Advanced Settings choice, a smaller version of Unreal's option menu appears and the advanced settings window appears but is rapidly flashing and is inaccessible. The smaller copy of Unreal's menu that pops up even becomes the active menu screen, and the original menu screen becomes inactive and inaccessible. If i hit esc, the mouse pointer appears but since the AO window is flashing, I cant do anything in it, and the 2nd smaller options menu covers most of it anyway. I can exit the smaller version of the menu, but then Unreal exits completely. It looks like selecting the advanced options runs a second, smaller "copy" of the options menu over the top of the AO window, but I cant do anything in the AO window. Any hints? Thanks!

I seem to remember having this problem when running Unreal in Direct3d mode. If you can change renderers in the video options panel try switching to the software renderer before accessing the advanced options. If that doesn't work, all the settings are accessible via the .ini files in the Unreal\System folder. Thanks for the info! I do believe I am running D3D, so will switch to OpenGL and see if that solves it.

If you want to use OpenGL with Unreal1, you will need the 226f patch -- Orion(Co30), aka Mouse(Co30), aka Francois ----------------------------------------------------------------- A stranger is just a friend you have not met yet. ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Xiccarph" <portw002@tc.umn.edu> a écrit dans le message de news: bu6a40$r7b$1@lenny.tc.umn.edu... > Thanks for the info! | If you want to use OpenGL with Unreal1, you will need the 226f patch I think there's a solution for both the 224/225 and 226 versions of the game?

No, Cookiemonster, I didn't receive an email from you....at least none has shown up yet. For Unreal, I found an OGL driver in one of my old backups of my game drive, and it worked; no more problems so far. Looks better than it did with D3D too, and I hope it also clears up a specific map crash (can't recall the map name) I always got on Infiltration servers. :) I run v.225....seems I did go to 226 a few years ago but it didn't work for some reason and I had to go back to 225.
