What a great little gem of a map.

What was great about it? It's basically a sectioned box.

I agree that it is semi-attractive, what with the rock gardens and
such, but it's too small, and too simple to afford any level of
playability. Am I missing something?

Yeah. I'm missing playing it for more than 60 seconds. I went back
and actually spent some time on it. For up to six players, it could
be an interesting map. It's minimalistic, so the first impression is
that there is nothing of interest, but it's actually quite subtle...
much like Japanese rock gardens themselves.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Heh. And there's some kind of weird wind that lets you work the
rooftops. Haven't figured out if you do something to trigger it, or
if you just have to be at the right place at the right time. Wasn't
as simplistic as I thought. ;-)

Not even. Old Skool is now cast in concrete. There will be *no*
changes of any sort, whatsoever..... period.

A guy asked me the other day if I would consider adding map vote. My
answer? "This ain't a fuckin' democracy". <g>

Ah well. I'll still try and remember to find old school tonight or this
weekend. I've been getting a hankering for getting fragged by someone
other then my stepson lately.

You might leave yourself a little room for fun and unique or interesting
ways to pass time while not fragging every now and then <g> Having your own
server leaves you with more options than you might realize<bseg>

There was a thread here about a year and a half ago (been trying to google
it to no avail) that mentioned activities like the skeet-shooting we talked
about and other things like building large pyramids of players and getting
screenshots or scripting demos to make UT-Movies with.... I've always
wanted to find the time to do that last one, BTW.... and I might enlist some
of the neighborhood kids to get involved...

Perhaps a few other people will remember some of the strange or unique
things in that thread or other things they've seen out on the servers...

DM- JAPAN by Tomica Frey 21.3.2001
This map was built because of two great games:Unreal tournament-Great
engine.editor and also great game

Shogun_Total war-Great game,very good action

I made some custom textures who will combine modern Japan with Japan
history.I think that i succeed in doing that but it is on you to judge.

Music:at first i wanted to put music on DM- Japan, didnt know how but i found
out thanks to Tomothy T who also helped me with textures so"Thank you".My
opinion is that music is not needed in this map

Because map speaks for itself and music would probably ruin the ambient.

So map is here for you to enjoy.Have some nice frags!

My e-mail is tom_2024@yahoo.com for any sugestions

This is the read me from the map it self. Its on Nalicity if you want it.

Thanks, but that’s not the map we're talking about.

DM-Japan (4 megs) is an Unreal Tournament map. (The hyphen between the M and
the J indicates that the map is formatted for Unreal Tournament only).

DmJapan (2 megs) is an Unreal Map.

Still trying to find out who the author is...

Thanks.

But it is a UT map. I guess it would play on either game.

Thanks Visine for pointing that out, didn't know there was a UT version.

BTW Unreal maps play fine in UT but not visa versa.

DmJapan will run on Unreal and UT.

DM-Japan will run on UT only

They are not the same maps in any case, you can tell by the screen shots.

the other is at the site Visine listed above.
