ANOTHER FLAME FOR UNREAL

Gotta be the pathetic weapon models and their puny sound effects.
Not to mention the lack of a feeling of power when using the weapons.

I guess I'm just used to the deep whoopass sounds of a rocket launcher
splattering someone in Quake2, and being able to do kickass rocket jumps
over someone's head while they splatter under you. In unreal, the rocket
jumps are more like little rocket hops.

The unreal weapons (the weapon models) just don't look nice. For instance,
the 8-ball weapon looks a bit like the rocket launcher in Quake (part 1)...a
piece of log. There is just basic lack of detail! VERY strange considering
so much went into creating the actual Unreal environment.

All the weapon models are like that, along with the weapon sounds (just too
weak and synthetic.)

My question is this. Is it possible to create a "quake2" set of weapon
models to use with Unreal? And if so, how would one go about making them?

I'm talking about the full monty. The weapon models, the sound effects, the
particles, etc.

ANOTHER very missed feature is the FOV. I just loved being able to zoom in
and out using a scroll mouse, or a button....Or playing at a FOV of 105.
Too bad for that.

Other than that. Great game. Walks ALL OVER Quake2.

Thanks for the info.

Merc
