75 ping revisited

Over the last year, I've asked about this a couple of times, but I'm still
hoping someone can explain it.

In the past, I've mentioned a curiosity about some people who have pings
that never fluctuate. A few weeks ago, I also noted a difficulty recording
demos from those players.

Well, now something has really got my curiosity up. - The server involved
is hosted by Trinity in Chicago. Trinity's fibre provider has had a little
problem with one of their edge routers leaving Chicago and it has affected
ping for everyone outside the edge zone. In fact, mine increase about ~20
and many other "regular" players have mentioned pretty much the same.

Well, the 75 pingers whose pings never fluctuate are still exactly 75. I
have to raise an eyebrow.

Can this phenomenon be explained at all?

Six, if you are really interested, I'll find out. Drop me an email and lets
discuss it. I'll have to ping the servers to see what's throttling
connections, but it's nothing bad.

I also had a big problem with this - But later found out it was someone else
using my internet connection.

Sure Six. I've actually been mulling this for a bit now and you have my
curiosity roused.
