Currently seeding UT1999 DM-maps

Howdy all,

Some time ago I created a torrent for several DM maps (UT 1999) for a
friend (1000+ miles away). I obtained them via FTP over the years.
Instead of uploaing them via IRC I decided to make a torrent instead,
so more people can enjoy these maps.

Currently I'm re-seeding it, because another irc pal missed 'm.

I can only see three (me included) in the swarm, and I assume the OP is the
seeder. I'll leave this as a permanent part of the seed collection I have.

Good to hear goPostal ^_^
I've just uncapped the upload (done downloading this sunday).

After manually trying (and failing) to add Vis's NNTP-Posting-Host, my
best guess is that this torrent needs to propagate worldwide all over
again via DHT network. This might take some while, especially since my
bittorrent client (utorrent) isn't as agressive as BitComet (hence it's
CPU load) considering DHT connections.

BTW I'm form The Netherlands

My son (he's 9) and I are watching "Barnyard" the other day and after it was
over there was a commercial for it on regular TV. He asked me how we could
watch it when it wasn't even out yet. It was like blood in the water as soon
as I hedged because then the whole "It's not legal is it?" and "Can we go to
jail?" questions started. So I did what any dad would do: I quickly dug out
a Christmas present and gave it to him early so he would think about
something else.
Whew.
Of course karma will kick in and tonight he'll want to know all about the
"special hug".

Thanks Agent. I should be done in a couple of hours. I was actually going to
install UT into my new Linux partitions today anyway and this will help
things along nicely. Let me know if I can reciprocate in any way :)

Frag on!

Good job. I had considered doing something similar, a while ago, but didn't
follow through.

Is there interest in a torrent with all the essential files needed for
installing UT in Linux? I have a directory with the necessary files, ready to
go:
liflg 436 multilanguage install (normal and GOTY)
  liflg bonus pack installer
  utpg 440 patch
  utpg 451 patch
  OpenGLDrv.dll patch
  IpDrv.so 436 patch
(although the last two are handled by the other installers, I just keep
   them for good measure)

How about un-umoded mods and mutators? Last time I checked, the umodpack site
at sourceforge was no more, I've used an unpacker in WinXP to re-package a few
of my favourite mods and mutators into "manual install" zipfiles. Would be
willing to do any others as requested, and put them into a single torrent.

I personally would be very interested. If you seed it, I'll leave it up.

BTW Agent, got it all. Thanks so much. I'm going to go down for the
afternoon so I can install UT and 2K4 into Mandriva, but I will continue the
seeding as soon as I get sorted.

One last thing, I ordered the PCLinuxOS SuperGamer DVD. I'll let you guys
know how it installs. It's supposed to be optimized for gaming and come
preloaded with a bunch of good games:

Perhaps a torrent may be in order? :)

Anyway I'm running, on a separate PC, a combination of Knoppix (both KDE
and Gnome) and SUSE 10.x just to keep up (especially considering tha

Here's the torrent link from TPB. Should show up on Torrentspy shortly as well.

Hmm, you must like dark maps then.

Did you figure out what all the switches do in this map?

Do you know what the switch that's in the rooftop (when you look up
from the platform) of that one dome does then?

Or how about the switch that's directly in the back of the lift near
that one set of stairs (not talikng about the actual lift switch
itself though)?

I'd appreciate any help on what they actually accomplish.

Hmm, wish I knew how to go about doing that. :-/

Go to your system folder and look for the editor shortcut. Beware though you
might find yourself overwhelmed at first trying to figure it out but mapping
is a hell of a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.

One thing I did notice though is that once you spend a little time with the
editor the "magic" of the game is kind of lost. You stop looking a how nice
a room is and start looking to see how the textures lined up :)
