After reading a message on the Looking Glass forums about the .crf files being simple .zips I had to try myself. Sure enough, they are. I set .crf files to be opened with WinZip. Then I figured "What the hell." and I extracted the Berrick skins from the mesh.crf file, painted stripes on their backs in Paint Shop Pro 5 and stuck them back in the mesh.crf file. I had to make sure they went back in the proper directories inside the file (they're recursed). I jumped in Thief and found the nearest Berrick (I'm at the beginning of the Lost City). I figured, at worst, the game wouldn't run, at best, I'd have red striped Berricks.... Looky here.... Red Striped Burricks.... Heh, heh. By the way, all the .crf's are .zips. The sounds file has a tone of .wav's in it. Lots of cool sounds from the moaning of zombies to the wind blowing. The skins are in .gif format, 8bit 256color 128x256 There's a few other textures in the mesh.crf file. The other .crf's have a huge number of textures for the entire game, in .pcx and .gif formats. Take a look. Drakks
