IN TEH PALECE KNOWEN AS alt.games.starcraft, TEH FAGGORTER Byers <mrby...@gmail.com> DUMPED HIS GHEYE SHIET ON MY COMPUTAR SCREEN!!!!: > >>>And how shitty is the latency? >> >>Shittier than Iccup/LAN-latency modified Brood War if that says >>anything. Better than vanilla BW. > >Well, I was hoping for the amount in milliseconds. If it rises above >300, good micro is gonna be out the window and you're not gonna be >able to play the game competitively at a high level. Lan latency BW is around 100 ms assuming your connection to the opponent isn't higher, regular b.net BW was somewhere in the 300-400 ms range or so and obviously you couldn't really do any fancy shit like muta micro or move-shoot and even goon dancing was a huge pain in the ass. Supposedly the US b.net ran at something retarded high when they started out, but it's been fixed. Still not as fast as BW with the lan patch, though - Someone on TL made a test, but I can't remember what their conclusion was out of memory.
