Correct, but he's right, it was truly historic event for computer gaming. Not only the 100% freelook 3D and the atmospheric sounds and music (9" nails anyone?), but indeed the first true internet gaming. To me at the time it was hardly believable that one single company was able to be so imaginative and successful at the same time. It still think it is a piece of art. So, thanks ID. Glad to've made u millionaires, if anyone deserves it.... Ursa..

The game, marketing, multiplayer, everything. Was a well mastered work of art. Both the game and the business model. Jay Wilbur saw to it I got the Quake Full Retail cd ON release night, and I made sure id got my Fifty Bucks. I was very pleased! It is kinda weird mulling the thought over that we were all very much a part of one of the most important events in the computer gaming industry. Quake isn't just a game. It was an Event! An entirely id produced product, released in both shareware and retail after. The most amazing and singlemost important game release in history. It is so important because it was a complete success. The developer completely bypassed the publishers, successfully. That one fact changed the industry. John Carmack and id Software blitzed the industry. They won, and I'm happy for them. McG.

Thanks for the most immersive gameplay yet! McG.
