Looking to get a new VGA card to run Q4, probably around £130... Would it be better to get a 128MB 6800 or go for a 256MB 6600 ? -- Phil

EB If you buy a new card how much will you sell your 6200 to me for?

Or a GT model will set you back £110 (but with only 128MB). Are the GT models really worth that much of a premium ? The FPS stats don't seem to back them up... -- Phil

I probably wouldn't go for the GT myself... if I had money to burn, I'd go straight for a 7800 <g> A 256 meg vanilla 6600 would be nice. ATM I don't have the cash to spare, but you never know. -- -- EvilBill - http://www.evilbill.org.uk "Phil" <spam@recycle.bin> wrote in message news:MPG.1de0819ccaeecbaf989b1d@news.ntlworld.com... > > >I'm not sure you can get the GT for Ł130, but YMMV :) > > > > > Yeah, I think the 6800 GTs would usually run up around Ł180-190. > I probably wouldn't go for the GT myself... if I had money to burn, > I'd go straight for a 7800 <g> Problem then is I'd need a bigger power supply. Then I'd have to get a new case to go with it. Then a new Mobo and CPU to put inside the case, etc, etc... :) I'm sticking with a simple 6800, then I don't need to upgrade anything else in theory... -- Phil

Todays and Tomorrows consoles are essentially dedicated gaming PCs, they're hardly the toys of yesteryear with only uninspired sidescroller games to play. The XBox 360 will probably be more powerful than my PC is, plus I'm able to play games on my widescreen TV from my recliner with a wireless controller. That sounds like the epitome of adult entertainment to me. And you can get the whole powerful package for $400. I think that's a good deal. -- Steve ¤»Inglo«¤ www.inglostadt.com
