Free or Commercial Q3A MOD - is it too early?

I want to start a Q3A MOD. Not completely sure on anything. leaning towards a mech - type style. Lots of futuristic weapons, models, textures, etc. I am looking for a few REALLY good artists to help. I want to make a lot of graphical changes to the game. I am looking for one lucky sounds guru, two top-notch programmers, three level designers, and several modellers. I can do a little in programming, art, and modelling, but that's where I fall short, I can't do it all. As you can tell I want this to be a big scale thing. To start out we will play with Q2 editing, just so I can get a feel for the team. If someone can't be a major benefit they will be replaced. The team I have now is rather small, and will be working for my company shortly also. So with that said, if anyone is interested reply to this message or e-mail me at: brim...@mailexcite.com with your nick-name, your REAL first name (I'm not trying to stalk you, only your first name please), age, what position you are applying for, and why you want to help! Thanks! P.S. The page will be up soon!

Anyway, I'm not sure if it's Beizer curves or NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines) that they are using, but the technology is right up there!! Get ready to upgrade (yet again!!). The upgrade from Quake to QuakeII for me involved getting a 3D card. I think this upgrade is going to do a lot more damage for my wallet. All good fun!!! Current system contains Celeron 300A (overclocked 450MHz), 128Mb SDRAM, CL RivaTNT. I'm going to wait and see how Q3A runs before buying anything!! I reckon a new processor P III 550Mhz will suffice. Comments? K.

In other words, I don't think you'll be able to see the difference if you upgrade. -- David Heinemeier Hansson http://www.get2net.dk redaktør (Spilloppen) http://www.quake3.dk udvikler/skribent http://www.e.magazine.dk skribent

Oh my.... That system rocks the boat! DON'T upgrade! That will run Quake 3 just fine! I would consider buying one (or two) Voodoo2 12MB's though... Also consider your HD. I think you'll need a lot of disk space for Q3. Imagine all the swap space needed.... Anders Steinlein din...@online.no -- Warning! No keyboard detected - Press F1 to Continue... This isn't quite Q3 related, but since you brought it up: do you know of any webpages that detail overclocking your processor? Thanks! -JP4 >Current system contains Celeron 300A (overclocked 450MHz), 128Mb SDRAM, CL >RivaTNT. I'm going to wait and see how Q3A runs before buying anything!!
