Had to shut it down and give up. Here's what it does. Up and running fine with no clients. Ok if I jump in. Cycles through maps fine and acts fine. One or more clients come in from the internet, it runs fine and everyone can play...until map change. Crash. Every time there is a map change with someone outside my LAN on the server. I've tested this with friends...every single map change crashes it. Except when it's empty or if I'm in there. This was happening with my Lithium mod so I tried osp, regular baseq2 deathmatch, well I guess that's all the mods I've tried, but it does it with or without some q2 mod. Uninstalled & reinstalled q2 on server. Same thing. Not one map change happens without the server crashing with clients. Acts fine with no clients or just me, connecting from inside my lan behind a Linksys router. Could it be the router? how would it know there's a map change going on? Could it be q2? How would q2 know if clients are inside or outside the lan? OS? What's it care? Oh, and here's a catch. Q3 server on same setup works fine and never crahes. UT2003 runs fine and never crashes, with or without clients. Same with UT2004. Anyone seen anything like this before? TIA OTG

Hi Oscar,
I don't think it's the router. There is a new port called quake2
evolved you might want to try. I currently can't access Tom's server, but
when I do I'll make sure the files are in my ports directory (scrapple).

If you have a problem with fileplanet, I put the q2 evolved files here, the latest is version .40. ftp://65.30.181.223/quake2/scrapple/Ports/ G. "George M.
