So in several years you're still going to be using that P166? No, you won't, not for games. Because the faster the processor gets, the more computational power your computer has. And the more computational power, the more effects will be put in. Like parametric curves and fractal generated environments... these are all dependant on a computer with a fast CPU. THe 3DFX only accelerates rasterization... of the stuff that the CPU calculates. Point in case, I put a Righteous 3d on a Cyrix P133+ (the old ones with the REALLY bad FPU). It improves speed... but in areas that don't have huge amounts of polygons. You can see the framerate drop when it gets into moderate areas, and just die in complex ones. And AGP is not bullshit.... calling AGP bullshit is somewhat like calling a PCI motherboard bullshit... AGP is accelerated Graphics Port. Future video cards will plug into this instead of a PCI slot. AGP accelerates it even further.... Next time put just a little thought into your posts ok?
