The Pentium II 266 is $200 cheaper, but let me ask you this, if the 100mhz bus becomes standard, won't that make the 300mhz processor that much better? If I go with the 266 am I giving up the AGP board? My understanding is this board is faster and will use SDRAM as opposed to EDO ram. Two years from now I should be able to still use the new SGRAM once it released. The specs show it should fit nicely in place of the SDRAM. > > > >64 megs of SDRAM > > Good... > > >Monster 3dfx video card > > Good... > > >Diamond Stealth PCI video card with 8mb video ram > > Well, i'd get a Diamond Viper 330, but thats just me. Additionally is the Viper a rendition card? I have NASCAR 2 and would like to run it at its optimum settings. > > > >6.1 Gig HD > > What kind? SCSI (2, 3, UW, etc...) or EIDE (ATA33, etc...)? Either one would be good. I think just AWE 64. The speakers will be Altec Lansing Sub woofer with 2 Satellite speakers. Do I want a microphone too? > > > >speakers > > What kind of speakers? I figure 33.6 is good for now, although I'd like a 56k modem because I hear it cuts down on net lag??? Will a 33.6 be sufficient for games like Quake 2, NASCAR 2 etc.? > > > >I've calculated this with tax to be approximately $4,077.15. > > > >What I would like to know, is this a good deal? I have heard a number of places that are cheaper, but I also get 3 years warranty and support. I still haven't found anyone in the Milwaukee area to build one cheaper at the same standards. --------------ms69AE31B08795EDDD79B30BAC Content-Type: application/x-pkcs7-signature; name="smime.p7s" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="smime.p7s" Content-Description: S/MIME Cryptographic Signature <encoded_portion_removed> suu/jo7fSOgNWqyM9aEEoVONaJZ5cRX/+csBOdY+OehZbUA6G4q1KA== --------------ms69AE31B08795EDDD79B30BAC--
