In a place known as alt.games.quake2, "Richard Torres"
<Reco...@bellatlantic.net> was running around screaming something
about "Doble jumping and changing fram rates". Before the men in white
coats arrived and took him away, he managed to say the following:
>How can i double jump in quake 2 and change the framerate i heard that help
>while doing a double jump. can u please explain how to do the double jump
>correctly thank your all for your help
>
Frame rate does help... But if your Q2 is running at what i call
"playable" (30-40 FPS min), then you should have no trouble with it.

Double jumps are essentially what the name says. However, you can't do
it anywhere. In order for you being able to double-jump you have to be
at some "stairlike" location. Probably the most common place to
doublejump is to jump to the combat armor on top of the boxes in Q2DM1
in one jump. Start by facing the boxes that lead up to the armor in a
straight angle(ie, you should be next to the stairs when starting to
practice). Now run towards the boxes, and quickly hit the jump key two
times in succession. If you did it right, you'll land on top of the
box(or as me, jump over it from time to time =) and get the armor.
Only way to get good at it is to just practice, practice and practice
more ;-) Another common place for a double-jump is to jump on top of
the two boxes next to the megahealth.(from where you can strafe-jump
to the megahealth). Start by facing the boxes in a 45 degree angle,
run towards, and jump twice on the last second. If you do it right,
you'll land on top of the boxes...

"I checked it very thoroughly, and that quite definitely is the answer. I think the problem, to be quite honest with you, is that you've never actually known what the question is."
