The Wolfman: id doesn't like Microsoft, your right. But they are writing Quake 2 to run on Windows 95 and NT. Don't believe me, e-mail Carmack yourself. Anyways, the original statement was that it was being written for that platform, not whether or not that platform is good for games. And yes, people are writing games for Windows now, in case you haven't noticed. That's because everybody (all the basic computer joes) are getting computers with Windows, not DOS like the 80s used to be. You seem to think that because of issues with it it will never happen, but it already has, not because of issues with the OS, but because of how widespread it is. What's the point with replying to the multiple messages of this thread all with the same general message? Yes, we know Microsoft sucks. Quake 2 is still being written for Windows though. I'm not a betting person but whoever wanted to wager on that (not sure who wrote that at this point), sure I'll bet them, since its been ANNOUNCED that it is already, and in fact the game is using DLLs. Same for Daikatana. -- Slipgate - AKA Ismail Saeed mailto:slip...@quake2.com http://www.quake2.com ICQ pager: http://wwp.mirabilis.com/1088038
