Hello, all. My friend and I have been working on this graphics patch for the last several weeks and we've finally gotten around to releasing it! I've just uploaded it to ftp.cdrom.com, so it should be available fairly soon. Let us know what you think! ----------------------------------------------------------------- The (UN)official Bubblegum Crisis DOOM PWAD! ----------------------------------------------------------------- Artwork: Aaron Travis Hacking: PK FILES REQUIRED: Dehacked v2.1 or higher Here it is, the absolute first weapons-only PWAD for Id's own DOOM based on the anime series Bubblegum Crisis. Many people asked us: why Bubblegum Crisis? The truth is: hell, we don't know. It probably has something to do with the fact that it's the only anime I've really had any contact with, and that the two of us have enjoyed it immensely. Anyhow, the procedure by which you the user can benefit from our selfless hours of self-imposed toil is simple: just unzip this file to the appropriate directory and type "crisis". The batchfile should do the rest, appending the necessary sprites to the crisis.wad through the use of the wonderous NWT. This will bloat the file up to around two megs, so make sure you've got the hard disk space (if you don't, it's time to delete some unnecessary files... Windows, perhaps? :) The DOOM.exe file will also be hacked automatically. To run the game, simply enter BGC and yer off! The modifications made by this patch are as follows: - Weapons altered: - Chainsaw becomes Arm Blade - Pistol becomes Needle Gun - Shotgun becomes Railgun - Chaingun becomes "Thumper" minigun - Rocket Launcher becomes Missile Launcher - Plasma Gun becomes Shoulder Pulse Cannon - BFG becomes Satellite Remote - The character portrait has been changed to Priss's mug - Weapon pictures and messages changed - Title screen altered approprately - New sounds (from the series!!!!!) Have fun, DOOMers! At some time in the future, we'd like to make a BGC total conversion patch for the game, but time and patience have already worn thin. So enjoy the fruits of our labors, and if you REALLY want to see a BGC-TC, let us know. We're always on the lookout for new slaves. :) Seeya, PK & AT E-mail me at servo@GRFN.ORG... *** SHAMELESS PLUG AHEAD *** and look for my Cacodemon --> Homer J. Ahhh, crap! I just realized that I never mentioned the filename ANYWHERE in the previous post (or in the text file for that matter)! Ok... it's called BGCDOOM.ZIP. There, I feel better. Enjoy! -- -PK (Email se...@grfn.org) "Live fast, die young, leave a fat, bloated, ugly corpse." -Tom Servo, MST3k

Just a regular old windows paint program (not the generic one... something from Aldus, I think?). Aaron drew the weapons and the portrait all by himself... and, as he tells me, it was murder! Anyhow, if we were to actually go so far as to change any enemies or the player character graphics, we'd probably use our copy of 3D Studio. Problem is, we don't have much experience creating meshes. Oh well. BTW, Aaron told me that a fellow anime fan had told him about Boomer meshes for 3D studio floating around on the 'net somewhere. Do any exist, and if so, where can we find 'em? I don't suppose there'd be any for the hardsuits also? -Seeya, -- -PK (Email se...@grfn.org) "Live fast, die young, leave a fat, bloated, ugly corpse." -Tom Servo, MST3k
