This little tip-list of mine isn't aimed at you high calibre players as such, 
it is merely to aid those newbie Quakers and to help make this world 
a better place to live in...

	---=<[ Tip #2 / June 1999 / Jump Small Lava DM2 ]>=---

*NB: For this trick to work well, you need to be able to move backwards
at a faster speed than default, you need to _run_ backwards. This can be 
done by adding the following line to your autoexec.cfg file:

cl_backspeed "200"

Picture DM2 in your mind - This level has to be my second favourite after
DM4, lava seems to attract me and this level has no shortage of lava  :)

Okay, say you spawn near the shotgun (which is in turn near the large lava
pit with megahealth and red armour on the other side) and you want to get
to the Rocket launcher. The only problem is, the corrider leading to the RL
is a small lava pit which is only covered when the button on the other side is
pushed. 

I'm sure you've spawned there once or twice to see someone 'flying' from
the RL side and in that second getting your head blown off. How do they
do it without pressing the button and covering the lava?

+ Once spawned, turn right through 90 degrees so that you are facing the
wall in the general direction of the megahealth.

+ Move backwards toward the lava pit keeping yourself up against the
wall, using it to guide you in a straight line.

+ Time yourself so that just before you reach the lava you jump and at
the same time swivel 180 degrees in the air, and you should be able to
keep to the wall all the way. The backward momentum keeps you going
backwards but the quick movement of your mouse means that you'll be 
able to swing round the pillar and on to dry land.

	If it goes well:

+ You should now end up on the other side by the switch, facing
the lava, still up against the wall. You've done it. Head straight for
the Rocket Launcher and cause some havoc...

	If it doesn't go well:

+ You'll find yourself frying in the lava, watching your health waste away
and your screams will resound throughout the level....

The easiest way to practice this is by typing the following: 'deathmatch 0', then 
'god', then 'impulse 9'. Don't forget to take out the quotes.
