This little tip-list of mine isn't aimed at you high calibre players as such, 
it is merely to aid those newbie Quakers and to help make this world 
a better place to live in...

	---=<[ Tip #1 / May 1999 / RJ Lava DM4 ]>=---

Have you ever found yourself in trouble whilst leaping from one floor to the 
other in DM4 when you realise halfway to the LG that you're not gonna make 
it and plunge straight down, into the lava? Well all is not lost. As long as you have 
a Rocket Launcher, that is. Here is how to get out of the large lava pit in DM4:

+ Immediately after entering the lava, push yourself backwards against 
one of the pillars supporting the walkway above you. Face into the lava 
with your back against the pillar.

+ Look down, and at the same time push yourself up the pillar by pressing 
the 'back' key.

+ Build up momentum (yes, it is possible, even in lava) and just before you 
reach the surface, fire your rocket a couple of times, pressing 'back' firmly.

+ Now, notice when you get to the surface of the lava you get a little boost. 
You need to time your RL shot to happen just before you reach the highest 
point of that boost.

+ You should rocket jump yourself out of the lava and on to the walkway but 
be warned, you will be VERY low on health. Head for the nearest health pack 
near the teleporter asap.

*Warning: DO NOT press the jump key whatsoever, this will just try to level you 
out and you won't get a clear shot at the bottom to propel yourself out from the lava.

The easiest way to practice this is by typing the following: 'deathmatch 0', then 
'god', then 'impulse 9'. Don't forget to take out the quotes. Now what about the 
smaller lava 'pits' near the megahealth? This one's a lot easier:

+ If you have lots of health (and maybe armor) as well as a rocket launcher, a simple
rocket-jump straight out of the lava is the easiest thing to do.

+ If you don't have a rocket launcher handy or you're relatively low on health, here's
what to do: Head straight for the rocket launcher if you're in the left-hand lava pit, or
head for the entrance if you're on the right. Go towards the smaller blocks which stick
out from the lava - not the bigger ones which line the pit. Build up a momentum and
then face down and jump/shoot at the same time (ie. typical RJ without the RL). You
should find that you just have enough momentum to catch the edge of the block. Then
you're out!
