I know everybody is busy ranting, raving, and panting over MK II here, but I like in Tallahassee, so if we see the game here before New Year's It'll be a MIRALE! Anyway, for those of who who don't have them, here are the Game Genie codes being advertised on TV: For the Super NES: D861-14DD Start match with Shang Tsung C9B2-17AF Infinite time 6DB8-3D67 Always get Flawless Victory bonus For the Game Boy: 005-94C-B31 Player 1 is invincible 00C-B5E-3BE Infinite time FF9-C7C-E6F Increased damage on the foot sweep For the Genesis: BT9A-CAG2 Start match with Shang Tsung AKXA-AA22 Always get Flawless Victory bonus AC7T-AAA2 Throws don't do damage For the Game Gear: 003-48B-F79 Player 1 is invincible 00B-40C-3BE Infinite time 240-C5D-C4B Player 2 usually starts at 1/2 health So you want to fight the Reptile? Here's how to do it--- I have confirmed this on the Genesis version ONLY--- 1) You must fight in the Pit, while characters are flying in the background. (You can set Flag2 or Flag3 in the cheat screen to do this) 2) You must win with a Double Flawless victory. (You can use the GG code, or Flag0 or Flag1) 3) You must perform the fatality move at the end of the round. 4) Finally, and this is important, you must do all of this WITHOUT EVER TOUCHING THE BLOCK BUTTON FOR ANY REASON, EITHER DURING COMBAT, OR IN PERFORMING THE FATALITY MOVE. (so Scorpion is definitely out) A word of warning: Reptile is FAST and he fights with the combined abilities of Sub-Zero AND Scorpion!!! If you don't start hitting him right away, you WON'T stand a chance! That's the dirt, folks, enjoy! AJ

You got all the reptile requirements right, but it is possible to fight Reptile with Sonya and Scorpion...With Sonya, just do the fatality as normal and with Scorpion, move the correct distance away and press up to jump in the air...While in the air, continue to press up rapidly and when you land, Scorpion will do the fatality. (so Scorpion is definitely out) It is not necessary to touch block to do Scorpion's fatality. Simply pressing up-up does it. In order to stay on the ground, back up to fatality range, start tapping on highpunch, and then press up-up while so tapping. This is how I get to Reptile with Scorpion... works every time. - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - Mike/garion@indirect.com/Snow Dog of Prismatic Force Designs/sydest.com You'll find all you need in your mind, if you take the time - Dream Theater - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + -

YOu sure about that? I mean, it says "Blocking will get you nowhere"
Yeah, I think what that really means is that when you block a hit you DO
take a little bit of damage... thus ruining your flawless victory.
Scorpion does work, and so do the others that need to use block in the
fatality. Or I'm just crazy and thought that.. whatever.. all I know is I
always use scorpion and get to fight reptile a lot.

Well, I finally got to play MK II when I went home to L.A. for Turkey Day. I was really surprised at how "cartoonish" the characters look. I mean, I like how Scorpion has been touched-up so that he looks, well... undead. And the full-screen portraits look cool, but I thought the characters looked rotoscoped more than digitized. Anyway, while I was playing, I encountered two moves that I'd consider cheese... we're talking Sonya-like top-grade cheese. 1) Sub-Zero's ground freeze. I think they should make this move a little longer in the wind-up, like Reptile's energy ball, so that you have a reasonable amount of time to escape, pre-empt, whatever. 2) Raiden's throw. The throw places you too close to him. I've had people pick me up and slam me three or four times in a row. I tried using the old Sonya-cheese-counter, which involves waiting until you land before blocking, but I could only block it about 40% of the time. Any tips? I'm just glad that Scorpion's combos still work against Raiden :) I like how Shang Tsung has only one special move until he morphs into somebody else. I also like the fact that he has to have a few seconds of peace to transform successfully. That really balances him out, I think. Or I'm just crazy and thought that.. whatever.. all I know is I > always use scorpion and get to fight reptile a lot. > -- Okay, okay, just to get things straight, I got the whole procedure from the back of the Mortal Kombat guide published by the GamePro magazine editors. They are the ones who said that you can't Block at any time during the match or in performing the fatality. What I HAD confirmed was the need for the Flawless Victory and the objects flying over the moon. I've also been recently informed that you don't need to use the block to perform Scorpion's fatality; all you have to do is press up 3 times as usual and when Scorpion lands, he performs his fatality. I haven't tried this out yet, but I assume it's correct. BTW, on a similar note, you don't need to hold block to do Kano's Cannonball, either. I haven't been able to get it to work for the knives, though. One last thing - if you have a Game Genie, then you can use AKXA-AA22 and always get the Flawless Victory bonus, no matter how much you get hit; it's also good for getting to Reptile. The other codes are in another post from me.. I forget the number, though... AJ

I really like Liu Knag's bicycle kick. You just wait, and BOOM!
Or Jax's ground punch is pretty good for people who sit and
block.
Also Cage's moves arent as awesome. For example the shadow kick
doesnt work as well as before
Liu Kang's old easy to do fly-kick combos. Not as easy to do. I cant
seem to do a in the air kick one. Though I did the gorund drop
kick/flykick combo a bunch of times vs the copmputer
BEST COMBO vs computer (in my opinion):
Take Kitana. Throw your blade right after drop-kicking the computer (hit
him a little low). Works Awesome!
