*sigh* Abortion. . . I KNEW this was gonna come out of this Thanksgiving thread
sooner or later. Anyway. . .

Here's some thoughts:

1)  What about thr right to choose, huh? Let's put this in perspective here:
would any woman reading this want a child conceived of rape or incest? How
about if the child is in the tube? I happen to know of a woman  who HAD to have
an abortion or die that very day. . . the fetus in the tube threatened to do
internal damage that was beyond repair. . .  if she had kept it, like she
wanted to (don't ask why, I have no clue) both her and her unborn would have
died that day. What is the point of causing two deaths for a doomed principle?

2)  Now let's say abortion IS murder. Fine. If my oldest sister had her way, I
wouldn't be typing this now (long story). So what. Let's say a woman has an
abortion purely for the point that she doesn't want a kid. That is wrong. Very
wrong. Denying that child life just because you don't think you could handle it
is probably the most selfish and cowardly act a human can sink to. I think to
satisfy everyone, all abortions should have some sort of legal hearing. 

3) The subject of adoption. I'm sure you've heard the tales of adopted children
being problem kids who've gone on to be nothing more than thugs, right? That's
just so untrue. Gerald Ford was adopted. That's right, former president Ford.
Who's to say adopted children in the right hands won't grow up to be great? Mr.
Ford, for one.

4) So let's say the child does end up a thug. Or let's say the child being born
has ADS from his mother being a smelly-ass drunk. I've seen too many unruly
kids around. . . I think that one kid who shot those British tourists in '93 is
a prime example. Let's make this whole thing simple for everyone. . . 

5)  HAVING CHILDREN SHOULD REQUIRE A LICENSE. Let's face it: one could do more
damage to the world mistreating and poorly raising child than one could do with
a car. Neither parenting nor driving should be done while under the influence,
yet those with substance abuse problems have children on a daily basis. Not to
mention they're still on the roads, here (we in Florida call them tourists).
The ability to read is required to have a driver's licence, yet it's not to
have a kid. You have to take tests to earn the right to be behind the wheel,
but not to be behind your girlfriend.

Don't get me wrong. I am pro-choice, but only for the right reasons. I am also
pro-adoption for those who have kids for all the wrong (IE stupidity) reasons.
Being a parent is the most important job in the world. The child you're
raising, like it or not, WILL affect the lives of countless others. Maybe we
should stop staring angerly (is that even a word?) at abortion clinics, and
more at those who go there for the wrong reasons. . .
